The straps help keep the pad in place and that means you spend more time focusing on your lift than thinking about the pad moving along or slipping around the bar.It's comfortable, fits a standard 1" bar and could potentially help you lift more weight (more comfort and focus). Bought this to replace a York heavy duty pad, which had started leaving a on the barbell at the gym thanks to the glue coming away from the Velcro over time.Really like this pad so far. No Velcro to secure it to the pad is a great idea. Was a bit cynical at first that this would stay in place but it does. I only use it to cushion a delicate area from the bar while doing hip thrusts.The pad at my gym is rubbish as were the ones before, so I’ve been taking my own for years now.Well worth what I paid for it. Haven’t used the band that came with it but that was a good bonus.

Great product for the squat bar, makes training more comfortable and lets me concentrate on technique and improving my squat. At 50 years old and hitting it hard I will take all the help I can get, prompt delivery and great value.Delighted from start to finish

Exactly what I was looking for. Needed this to perform safety bar squats with the use of a normal regular Olympic barbell modified with this pad and wrist straps either side. Takes the pressure off the cervical spine and stays in place better than other squat pads because of the velcro loops at either end which you can tighten. Very comfortable.

I mainly bought this for my girlfriend. I don't use it as I prefer to feel the bar across my neck/shoulders, but I have tried it out and it is very comfortable for squatting and hip thrusts/bridges.It's thicker than I imagined so in my opinion it makes the bar feel a bit unstable for squatting, I would like it to be slightly thinner. The straps are also annoying. It would be better if they were stitched in place as you have to fully remove them to wrap them around the foam once it is on the bar, feed it through the little loop then back onto the velcro... it's fiddly sometimes but it's alright.Overall it's good enough and worth the price.

Protection en mousse achetées principalement pour les squats. Si l'on ne met pas les sangles, ça ne tient pas donc ce n'est pas facultatif... Donc un tout petit peu relou de devoir toujours prévoir un peu de temps pour attacher et enlever les sangles, mais à part ça, elles sont top. Assez épaisse pour que je ne sente pas la barre.Pour le transport, les sangles peuvent se mettre dans la housse sans bouger, donc on est pas gêné avec ça...
