Cooltan FAQHow does the fabric work?The unique patent-pending fabric used in Cooltan tan-through swimwear and shirts is made with a special knitting technology that creates millions of tiny pores in the fabric. These pores allow approximately half of the sun's light to pass through to approximately the same degree as a medium level sunscreen. They are extremely comfortable because they allow your skin to breathe.Can you see through the fabric?Cooltan swimsuits and shirts are not see-through when wet, nor when dry. Although it is a lightweight fabric, it is not see-through when worn.Where are Cooltan shirts and swimsuits made?All Cooltan fabric is made in the USA! Shirts and swimsuits are sewn in California.Does the material dry quickly?Cooltan swimsuits and shirts dry quickly both when you wear them and after you wash them, making them extra comfortable, and a great travel suit! Care Instructions: Machine wash. DO NOT DRY IN DRYER. We suggest draping over a drying rack/shower rod/chair, or laying flat to dry. Perfect for travel or gym use!How fast can you tan through the shirts and swimsuits?Best way to achieve an all over tan, is to use an SPF lotion of 6 to 10 (or higher as needed) on skin which is not covered by the suit. We also recommend using suncreen with an SPF 30 for a more even, all over tan. IMPORTANT: Genuine Cooltan items will have a Cooltan tag in the item, along with a Cooltan information card in the package. Please be wary of other sellers who may be selling counterfeit items- only genuine Cooltan items have the Cooltan tag, and only genuine Cooltan items will allow you to get a tan through the fabric.

Different for sure !
I have a private back yard and just short of running around totally nude, these fit the bill perfectly .... while allowing the sun to do it's thing. They feel absolutely stimulating as I walk due to their material I guess .... like getting a massage at the same time. Will be ordering another pair for spares.

ok, stay away from branches
bought for vacation since we are usually sans suits, my hubby caught a branch at the hot springs and immediately had a small hole on hip, it didn't get worse. it was a bit tight but not see thru unless you get up close to really look. we didn't get much sun to try out but my experience in the past is you will get some but you will have tan lines still especially from elastic (which in past i have removed.) we just wanted something that could tan through... he said it was more comfortable than a baggy shorts suit & happy it wasn't a typical speedo- why do people hate them so? lol

Cut out the front panel inner liner for the utmost comfort. Don't worry....It's Ok, even without the inner liner because the Blue Aztec is NOT see-through which is another big plus. The ONLY reason why it didn't get 5 stars was based on the reviews, I was under the impression that the suit might run small, so I went ahead and ordered the size I wear everyday (Medium) in the hopes it might be a little small for a nice fit. Well it was a good fit, but it is a little baggy when wet. I will keep this suit, but I did order 2 more in the size small which should take care of the situation for a tighter fit.

I love them
I really love these. I know it's very 70s/80s but that's when I grew up and now I'm working out hard to be in shape again. And these are awesome. They fit nicely and they tan nicely too. I haven't worked out in them like some reviewers said they have - i roll around, so I'm not going to ruin them.

Fitted but tasteful.
I like these trunks. My wife likes them on me which is more important.They are fitted but the pattern helps camouflage certain things so they are tasteful enough for family beaches.I wear a medium in most shorts sized in that scale and these fit me well. But if you're squeezing into a medium in other shirts go a size up. These are true to size but you have to be honest about the size you actually wear.

Definitely thin and it doesn't run too small. Compared to competitive swimming suits this one runs large. The inner liner could also me slightly larger, but it works.

Went swimming in these you can definitely see through them. With that being said somewhere private they would be great.

I like these
I am 6-ft x 175-lbs and wear 34-36 jeans. I ordered XL and they fit well; loose enough to let the boys out easily to take a wiz.I wanted shorts that would dry quickly so I wouldn't freeze when I go into the house. These dry fairly quick, but not as quick as I expected.
