Mixes it very well with Established Players at a Low Price.
I have had Duvets from Raab and ME in the past. Very expensive but well conceived and made. This is a simple "core" duvet sporting a very thin breathable shell that will not be waterproof and will have a tendency to catch on thorns. Fags or joss sticks will "rifle shot" through the shell with extreme ease. But they all do have this shortfall. The USP is that it is very warm and if worn with a Goretex storm proof outer you have a combo that would be perfectly good in the highlands through the most severe winter. On its own, it will soak and get waterlogged in driving rain as the others do too. But Marmot have produced this for £170 which is three, four or five times cheaper than its more illustrious competitors. Sure the design is basic (there is no differential pocket stitching for additional insulation or fancy sealing zippers and the hood isn't detachable) compared to the others, but you will probably get a similar life out of it. The winner for me was getting it for just over a £100. A combo of Black Friday and a Prime customer price. So that's actually paid for my subscription. A happy warm bunny.

Very warm
I did a lot of research before buying this jacket and because of reviews all over the net I decided on this one. When it came the package was so small I thought it must be a mistake. When I opened it the jacket looked so thin I thought it couldn't be any good. However, looks can be deceptive. It is very warm and stops the wind. The duck down has filled out so it now looks thicker. There are good pockets and the hood is great. The cuffs can be tightened to make a snugger fit. All in all I am very pleased with it and would recommend the jacket to all.

Warm!
Bought for a holiday to Iceland, absolutely brilliant jacket! Most of the time worn with just one layer beneath, in approx -8 degrees temperature with added wind chill and Kept me feeling toasty. Snowing alot of the time and the jacket didn't let any water through. Generous fitting and deep pockets. Recommended!

Very warm
Not had it out in rain yet so don’t know how waterproof it is but I find it very warm I don’t like the two zips and I bought the xl which is a bit smaller than my other xl coats

Firstly, I was disappointed when the parcel got delivered as the bag had a tear in it which went all the way through to the down jacket. The professionalism of the way AMAZON dealt with my problem was spot on, literally got a replacement the next day. And the damaged one sent back, so 5 star for that. The Jacket itself is light weight and warm. Perfect for the colder environments. Packs down small which also a plus. Looking forward to putting it through its paces in Norway next month.

Lacking, for the price
On the plus side it's lightweight, reasonably warm by UK weather standards, relatively wind-proof and so far waterproof. The sizing runs slightly small and given that it's too much trouble these days for sellers to display the sizing chart I'd recommend going to the Marmot site and checking it out there. Unfortunately I'm between L and XL. I bought an XL to allow for extra layers, hoping that the neck and hem would be fully adjustable. They're not. A couple of loops of cord are apparent but these do nothing. The hood is enormous and comes down over the eyes, making you look like Kenny from South Park. Again, there is no adjustment and no strap to hold it down when not in use. If you're wearing a head torch and it's raining you have the choice of getting wet or stumbling along in the dark. And the zip. I hate these left-handed double zips. Nobody even knows what they're for, with people talking about absurd situations such as if you're caught up K2 and you need to whiz in a bush without hoiking your hemline. Unless you have your genitals protruding from your abdomen I can't even see this as an issue, and if you were up K2 in this thing you'd have more than a stained hemline to worry about - you'd be frozen solid and on your lying back like a dead beetle before you reached base camp.

Cosy and easy to wear - and looks good.
Just love my Marmot jacket. Its cosy and easy to wear and looks good. I had a Black one for years, it done me proud through many bad winters. However while travelling abroad I accidently left it in an Airport and it was lost forever. So I bought a new one and its still the same great quality and I cant wait on the colder weather when I can wear it. Highly recommend Marmot.

It is not water resistant or is very thick.
My wife went for the Columbia Grand Trek and went for this... She did her research. They are the same price, same features (apparently) and yet one is so much better than the other. The texture of the material of this one feels cheaper by comparison, both inside and outside. Randomly the zip for male coat zips up the opposite side, which wasn't a great start and I found it odd. I put a few drops of water on both jackets - it was absorbed by this one, the Columbia kept the water on the surface - I tried in 3 place to be sure. But, the main problem is that the coat is really fat and chunky, the Columbia is slim and thin. Now, when I go walking I want layers and I do not want to feel restricted. With this one due to it's thickness I walked around the house like the Michelin man - not what I want for walking. I was so unhappy I never wore it outside, so I cannot talk about the windproofing or performance to that end. Returned.
