Sookie & Finn: Going to School DVD is a follow on to the Our Day DVD, designed to boost your toddler's speech and language development. In Going to School DVD, Sookie & Finn dress up to go to school, put Humpty Dumpty together again, wait at the bus stop for the school bus and have fun with cars and other vehicles driving past them as well as traffic lights while they are on the school bus. Going to School DVD introduces the vocabulary necessary for dressing up, clothes, body parts as well as vocabulary and sentence structures for walking on the road and travelling on the bus. In addition, this fun DVD encourages independence in self care (Sookie puts her coats on all by herself!) and road safety by modelling the desired behaviours. As with other Sookie & Finn DVDs, in addition to therapists using the DVD in therapy, parents can use it at home to supplement therapy or just as a little extra 'nudge' for the stubborn late talker. The films are based on our unique methodology which is derived from the latest available research in children's language development utilising extensive consultancy from a UK based paediatric speech and language therapist.

Excellent for improving toddler's speech
We have bought all 3 of the Sookie and Finn DVDs and our little boy loves them. We have had the first one since he was 2 and he is now 3. He was diagnosed with autism last year and has severe speech and language delay. We thought he may never speak. These DVDs have been a God-send, along with speech therapy, these DVDs have really brought on his speech. He will copy the words used in the DVD and them apply them to real life. He gets really excited about watching them and doesn't realise he is actually learning. The woman on the DVD who recaps at the end of each scene seems a bit on edge/emotional! But our little boy doesn't seem to notice and the recaps really help to consolidate the language.Would definitely recommend for any child who struggles with speeach and language or autism. I wish they would bring out more episodes!

Brilliant!
I bought all three of the Sookie and Finn DVDs for my 3 year old daughter who cannot speak properly, following her tongue-tie operation. She took to them straight away, and watches them a few times a day. Words and phrases are repeated a few times per episode, and there are pauses between, so that the child does not get confused. Her vocabulary and sentence structure have improved. However, I do not soley rely on the DVD. I also have to put in a lot of work too.This DVD is excellent, but it is not a miracle worker!I would highly recommend it.

Great product, but not as good as first DVD
I really think the sookie and Finn range are good for children who need help with speech and language problems like my little one. And although this one has gone down well I don't think there are as many things, songs for example, and different situations for children to learn from as there are in the first DVD we got from them which covers a whole day. However if you afford all three DVDs they offer I would still say get them as I haven't found a better collection.

What's not to love? The songs? The pictures and the story that captivates the attention of my little one? Like your own private speech-therapy session at home, it surely delivers and I can't even begin to express my gratitude for such professional and well attended efforts that really make a difference.Trust Sookie & Finn to help your children face any speech difficulties. And it's also huge fun for them!

Good clear diction.
My grandson aged two and a half loves this DVD. Is it helping him to talk? I don't know but it isn't going to hurt. Lots of everyday situations and clear diction with plenty of repeated words. His big sister is 4 and off to school in September so she loves it too.

Very good for speech delayed children
This is a very good product for speech delayed children. The subjects are very interesting for the children. There is a lady speaking in a corner very clear with a very good pronunciation. My children loved the DVD and they all the time repeating the words after her. The subjects are very good for children between 2 years old to 5 years old. A very good choice.

As per my review on the Day Out DVD, these are absolutely fantastic DVD's and my son loves them. He has speech and language delay and is 3 1/2. These DVD's engage him totally and have made a real improvement to his speech and language development. Would definitely recommend
