Plastic harness disintegrated after 5 years
Not much else to say. Computer won't boot, look in the case- CPU fan/heat sink is hanging out on the GFX card. The entire plastic harness bit broke into 8+ pieces. I'm still not sure if the failure damaged other computer components. Got about 5-6 years out of it before it broke, so at least there's that.

too noisy and the quality is terrible
VERY VERY NOISY!I found this out at Fry's (local computer, parts, electronic etc store) for less than 20 bucks. along side with the coolingmaster 400? retail for 30+ish dollar. and since this is only for my non-oc home entertainment pc, i figured it would be much better than my stock i5 cpu cooler. as my old stock one start to fail.so I got it. spent more than 30mins just try to put it on the mobo. the design is quite bad. I dont really want to use force but they do need you to push hard on the locking pin. you know, this is a typical crappy made in china. i was quite scared that im gon rip it or my mobo or the rams beside it.and as soon as i fired up my pc the fan started to spool. full throttle. it reads 3k rpm all the time. very noisy if you dont set the curve and just let it work as default.the actual cooling is also not very pleased. i have a i5 2400. no oc.but it runs way much hotter than i expected. with stress test, it can go up to high 60s. i played about 15mins NFS game. peak temp is about 70~ish with full throttle fan. very noisy.overall,3 stars just for its friendly price

Great Heatsink for under 20 bucks
Great Heatsink!!! I put it on a HP Elite 510y since the OEM one was getting a bit noisy and I wanted it to be running cool when I render video or If I play games on the machine. I tried 3 different ones to fit in the HP: The EverCool HPR-922EP, Coolermaster TX3, and a Silenx Effizio EFZ-92HA3.First one I put on was the Silenx Effizio on, only problem with it was, that because of the RAM being very close to the CPU, it wouldn't fit unless you swapped out the fan for a thinner one, or have it in pull configuration. I had a spare thinner fan that I managed to put along side with the Silenx in a Push/Pull configuration. Ran the numbers on Prime 95 and the machine got to about 75C, which is a big no no. So i took it out.Next one I tested was the Coolermaster TX3. The only problem I saw was with how it mounts, it either will push the air up or down, towards the base of the PC and not towards the exhaust fan. So I didn't even bother putting it in since i knew the rest of the machine would be running a hotter, since the air from the CPU would be going to the rest of the machine.Last but not least, i put the EverCool on. It was very easy to install, just as the other 2 were. Maybe 5 minutes worth of work. The fan that came with this unit fits just perfectly with the RAM, have about a quarter of an inch of clearance to work with and it is very very quiet. I put it in a push/pull configuration with the Silenx fan as the pull, since i didn't need the heatsink part of it anymore. Temperatures are idling around 19C with the configuration now. Stress test with prime95 put it up to about 52C which is in an acceptable range. Real world scenario though, you will never have all cores of your CPU running at 100% load. So out of the 3 fans that I have tested, 2 of which ran with Prime95, I would recommend this EverCool HPR-9225EP model.Keep in mind though, when you have a push/pull configuration, you might have to buy a fan splitter cable since some of the Factory machines don't have a lot of fan pins. In my case, the HP Elite 510Y only had a CPU fan and a Exhaust fan. So i plugged in the fan splitter cable into the exhaust fan and was able to plug in all required fans in the machine. Here are the links to all the products I used:EverCool HPR-9225EP EverCool HPR-9225EP 1155/1156/775/K8/AM2/AM3/FM1/FM2 Copper Heatpipe CPU Cooler Cooler Master TX3 Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heat Pipes (RR-910-HTX3-G1) SilenX EFZ-92HA3 Effizio 92mm CPU Cooler SilenX EFZ-92HA3 Effizio 92mm CPU Cooler StarTech.com TX3 Fan Power Splitter Cable StarTech.com TX3 Fan Power Splitter Cable - 6-Inch (TX3SPLITTER)

My HPR-9225ep CPU Cooler Review
Installing the cooler was very easy (as shown on the box). It is VERY quiet. In fact, so quiet I had to look at the blades to make sure it was on! I didn't perform any cpu performance testing. But I did leave my pc on over night. The next morning I checked the temperature and it was good. This gives me reason to believe it will do just fine. I will post an update if not. I did not receive any compensation for this review.

it's not a 212 EVO but for the price it has been awesome. I've been running it for about a week ...
After about a year's worth of use, the stock fan/heat sink combo on my FX-8320 called it quits. In need of a fix, I picked one of these up for $20. No, it's not a 212 EVO but for the price it has been awesome. I've been running it for about a week with no issues. It idles the CPU at a chilly 12-14C now, and even when gaming heavily I haven't seen CPU temps beyond 43c. I can't speak of the long-term relability yet, but seeing as it's a fairly common fan size if it goes out ill gladly slap another fan on it. Also, the fan is a 4 pin PWM so you can use BIOS (or a fan controller) fan speed controls. Basically, bang-for-the-buck this thing is actually pretty awesome. Excellent for the budget performance PC guys like myself.
