The Xiegu X6200 is a solid piece of gear that I’ve been really impressed with. First off, the display is fantastic—bright, clear, and easy to read, even in outdoor settings. It’s one of those features you don’t fully appreciate until you’re in the middle of a long day and need to quickly check your settings without squinting.The construction is just as impressive. This thing feels like it can handle some serious use, which is perfect for portable setups where durability is key. It’s clear they didn’t cut any corners here; it feels like it’ll last a long time.And the USB-C with an integrated soundcard is a game changer for digital modes. No need for extra adapters or cables—it just works. It’s streamlined, and that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to keep your setup as simple as possible.Overall, Xiegu really nailed it with the X6200. It’s got the performance, the build quality, and the features that make it a fantastic addition to any portable radio kit. Highly recommend it! I liked the form factor and the features list, but too many features didn’t work or work well. I updated it to the latest firmware (1.03), but the problems persisted. Others in support forums experienced similar problems (low output on SSB, flakey Wi-Fi, charging issues, etc.)It has the potential to be a nice radio, but to me, it seemed more like a beta product. I didn’t want to gamble that “future firmware upgrades” would solve all the issues. I returned it for a hassle-free refund. I had spent enough time troubleshooting it and searching support forums for solutions. That’s not why I bought it.

I've used this rig on several occasions since purchasing it. I have been able to reach stations all over the world on 5 watts of power and a simple EFHW antenna. I haven't used every function on the radio but it isn't difficult to figure things out. I feel the quality of the radio is good. I chose to go with the 6200 over the IC705 due to the size and the fact I already have other VHF/UHF radios. I've received clear and strong signal reports and overall I'm happy with the purchase.

So far so good. I'm waiting to update so things don't end up bricked.(I've now updated it and it got rid of a few bugs. I bought the amplifier that goes with this and it is still missing in transit. Amazon said it was damaged and being sent back to the seller but wouldn't refund me until it got back to Florida. The x6200 itself is awesome. I can't wait to see what features it gains as we go. Built in ft8 decoding and a slew of features. I'll be making some videos on it on my YouTube channel. (Titled the same as my user name). Buy from Radioddity I've had good luck with them and the xiegu store. They won't ship spare batteries to Hawaii though. So be sure you take care of the battery it comes with if you live outside the 48 states. The radio came with the battery but you can't buy it on its own. It makes no sense. Update- the amp showed up even though Amazon said it was being sent back due to damage in transit. 1.5 months of wondering what was going on. The x6200 runs the same backend as the x6100 so some things on the backend already work. I'm thinking it'll only get better with updates. 🤙🏾

The media could not be loaded. I have had this transceiver for two days now and have very mixed feelings about it. Purchased it as a receiver for now and have not tried the transmit function. It is made of quality materials and the screen is wonderful. It really should have been a touch screen but the buttons work pretty well.I upgraded to the latest firmware and started listening. My first disappointment was background noise. I compared a transmission between my Malahit DSP2 and the 6200 and the Malahit was much clearer with no background noise. I used the same antenna on the same transmission and tried to use similar filters like noise reduction etc. During silent gaps the Malahit was quiet but the 6200 sounded like water flowing in the background. I spent hours listening to many broadcast and amateur radio and the Malahit was clearer and crisp without any background noise. Unless I am doing something wrong, this is a great disappointment and I am considering returning the 6200.The other issue is the speaker sounds tinny. I was listening to a strong talk radio FM station and the "s"s were muffled and not very crisp. At first I thought it was the speaker but I had a similar issue with headphones. The speaker leaves a lot to be desired but the non-crisp sound on the headphones indicates a problem with the signal itself. The same station on the Malahit and other FM radios I have does not have this issue.I tried booting up the 6100 alternative R1CBU firmware. The UI and the buttons worked but there was no signal. Hopefully they will come out with an R1CBU firmware for the 6200 soon. This receiver has a lot going for it especially the fact that it is hackable, excellent hardware quality and easy to carry. Unfortunately unless I figure out the issue with the background noise it will be going back.

It did not transmit. Hand held mike. Is dead...what do I doThis is the second one that does not work?
