The Last Hedgehog

Bought three copies of this book...one for a Hedgehog loving adult, and two intended for little people of my acquaintance. Thank Goodness I read tge book first before sending it to the children! Tears before bedtime would most certainly be on the cards! Great book! Very clear ecological conservation message...but ...it’s hard hitting and definitely NOT for children. It’s message is extremely clear...we have to take care of Hedgehogs if the species is to survive. Well done Pam...written in your own imitiable style. Now....I have two unwanted copies to dispose of...any takers.

Superb tiny book with Pam Ayres sad lament from the Last Hedgehog. Illustrations are excellent. Not a poem for young children.

Delightful Illustrations,a powerful message but I am not sure who it is aimed at.Children would find it upsetting,I think,although they would love the pictures.It needs to be more positive throughout to appeal to children.It made me sad and upset to see the various calamities that befell these cute hedgehogs,but I suppose that is the point!

This is a lovely book, well illustrated, and a delight to read! I hope that its' readers are as influenced as we have been, to cherish and protect our UK (European) hedgehogs. Pam Ayres obviously has a genuine empathy with their plight, and writes with her usual wit and nostalgia. Buy it!! And look up the various fascinating UK websites to help our hoggies!

Purchased 3 copies to give to family and friends. Lovely little book with appealing illustrations. Whilst a cute book it carries a serious message which will resonate with adults and children alike. We are passionate hedgehog lovers and anything which will help to save these wonderful little creatures is welcome and this book should be on every school library shelf.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my friends young child (he’s not old enough to read it himself but I’m sure he’ll enjoy it being read to him). The book itself is a little bit smaller than I thought it would be (which isn’t an issue) but it has some lovely illustrations and has a nice little story!

Bought this for a book to read to grandchildren.... Its NOT for kids under 12 at all! It's got inappropriate words for kids in it which I didnt expect at all.

Nice little book, bought for the grandchildren as I am passionate about hedgehogs. Tells an eloquent little story which most children can relate to. No problems with seller, would recommend both book and seller.
