Very good book although I would like to also have videos coming with it. We used some of the drills on holiday.

Helpful tips for initiating your baby
I first got hold of this book in the library and decided to purchase a copy for our own reference, as it is full of judicious and inspiring advice.Though the book does not contain a set group of activities for each trip to the pool (as a previous reviewer mentioned), it is great at providing helpful pointers for each stage of your child's discovery of water - from their appreciating their own buoyancy in the bath to their first intentional, co-ordinated movements.Even if you don't attend or have access to swimming classes, this book will enable you to feel confident about how to handle your baby in the pool and how to build on their natural affinity for water.

A revelation
I was looking for a book that would help me enjoy swimming with my baby and lay down the basics of swimming for her. I'd bought a couple of books which are probably fine for toddlers and older children but a bit too basic and simplistic for babies, mostly assuming I would want to put my daughter in a safety ring/boat until her first birthday. Then I bought this one completely by chance and it was absolutely fascinating. The idea that my baby and I could progress to her enjoying swimming on me or next to me was a revelation. We have used the book for our last 11 pool visits and she is happy jumping in, holding onto my swimming costume as I swim and practising kicks herself with the minimum of support, it's amazing. The only thing missing from this book is a progress guide. As the book is written, it is up to each individual to work out their own schedule with a little from the 4 main practice categories. For me that meant reading the whole book twice with a notebook and pen the second time round, I then used the notes to create an acitivity list for each pool visit. It worked but I can't help think that the publishers are missing a trick here. All in, highly recommended.
