Decorating with Flowers: Classic and Contemporary Arrangements

I bought this as a present for my mom, who knows quite a bit about arranging flowers but has never had any formal training, mainly to get some more tips about the subject. The actual printed information contained in the book is rather sparse, although it has some rather lovely photographs, and so this is a case where studying pictures is of more value than what the author has written. In this regard it is probably not the most practical guide to flower arranging, but the photographic quality would make it a good table book.

This is a beautiful book and was everything I hoped for in purchasing as a gift for a friend. It is not quite a coffee table book, but it has heft with nice paper quality. Beautiful images, helpful techniques. I will reorder one for myself (and maybe others as gifts).

I am Paula Pryke's number one fan. I have ordered several of her last books, well before the release date. I think this book is great. I love the way Paula breaks down the color groups, and lists the names of the flowers in the arrangements. This would be a great book to use as a reference for all occasions.The one thing I was greatly disappointed in this book was, the fact that so many of the pictures of arrangements have been in previous books of Paula's. May be it is due to the fact of have many of her books. "Please Paula Pause" and take more time to come out with a book that includes more new and fresh ideas.

Well, this book gave me some new ideas which are easy to materialise.In fact I already tried and I believe I managed to make one of her creations.I recomend it to anyone who likes flowers and not only to those who do it professionally.

Beautiful pictures and fabulous designs but not for those needing tutorials in flower arranging. It is more of a picture book than a "how to do it."
