A great book (my second copy) by a trusted author.

Bought this book to use after booking a trip to the Pantanal and used it while on holiday there as it is not very heavy.Gives a good guide to the wildlife which is likely to be seen and has some nice photographs although some of them seem a little dark.The book also covers some of the accomodation available.One of the places we stayed seemed to have alteredsince the book was written which was slightly disappointing.As this seems to be the only guide book dedicated to the Pantanl Wildlife at the moment I would recommend it.

This succinct guide is a joy. It is beautifully illustrated and packed full of really useful information. Ahead of visiting the Pantanal it was invaluable in terms of planning our schedule and considering where and when to visit and what we would be likely to see. It doesn't just cover birds, it covers everything and this was really helpful and added greatly to our trip. It was great pouring through this book time and time again ahead of our visit, just whetting the appetite for what was to come and while out in Brazil it was a great reminder of where we were and what specific wildlife we should be looking out for. This is a great little guide and an essential purchase for anyone visiting the Pantanal which is such a fantastic place.

I have just returned for a wonderful trip to the Pantanal in Brazil and took this book with me - it was a very useful and informative little book with lots of tips and good photos of all the wildlife you can expect to see. We stayed at 2 places mentioned in the book and found the information about them good and accurate. Another plus is that it is small and light enough to take with you without taking up too much precious luggage space.

Good book

This was an order placed before publication so I didn't know what to expect other than the same high quality of other Wildlife Guides from Bradt.This one is a little thin and the spine was a little deformed. Also it has a curious reference in the Contents to "The Australian Environment". Obviously a proof reading error so I will read the rest of this book very carefully to see if it starts referring to Kangaroos or the Great Barrier Reef.

We didn't find it very useful

Bradt books never disappoint .....Attention to details is their forte. We used their guide to Namibia and it was so good an precise it was lie having the author with you on the trip.Beautiful pictures in this Pantanal guide too so looking forward to using it on our next tripp

A great book to share with others - everyone enjoyed seeing what was in it. (I'd pass it around to other tables every night at dinner in the communal dining area)It has great pictures and a good history of the area that can enhance your experience

Very good book with all info you need!

The guide is small, can easily fit in reduced luggage on a trip - yet is full of great photos and information. Obviously at its size it cannot cover everything (e.g.thin on birds) but an excellent compromise.

sehr gute information über die gesamte biologische Vielfalt, in der Art des eglischsprachigen Raums. Sehr gute Fotos brauchbares Bestimmungsbuch (bei Vögel natürlich unvollständig), empfelenswert für eine Reise ins Pantanal und die angrenzenden Regionen.

La guía está bien diseñada. La información es un poco superficial en algunos casos, aunque no hay que olvidar que es una guía de viaje encarada a los amantes de la naturaleza. Aunque en el Pantanal hay muchas más opciones, pudiendo ir por tu cuenta sale mucho más barato que los precios que indica el libro.Recomendable.
