Used on area that the neighbours cat likes to sit outside my window and meow at 2am and 4am. Saw no change and cat still meows in same spot. Would recommend a dog before using this.

This stuff works….The deer almost killed my Azaleas this spring. I sprayed the Azaleas with Safer Deer Repellent and saved the bush from being totally eaten away. I also use this on my Hydrangeas and it keeps the deer from eating them down to the ground. The spray is somewhat water resistant but you should check it out after a heavy rainfall. The spray has a strong smell. You should be able to still smell it after the rain. If I can’t smell it after a heavy rain, I lightly reapply the spray. Under normal conditions,I find it lasts about 3 to 4 weeks before it has to be reapplied.

I sprayed 3/4 of a bottle in a 5 foot area. I was trying to keep cat prints off the hood of my car. I sprayed the rest on my porch right in front of the door and on the door mat. Came home and the cat was on the porch... laying on the matt. Cat prints still on my car even though the driveway is soaked in this stuff.

2023-08-25. Garden animal repellent spray by Safer Brand. Ready-to-use. 24 fl oz. Covers 375 sq. ft. Every year my garden falls victim to the natives that were probably here way before me. In the past I've tried everything to deter them from eating my plants, but to no avail. I've put out carrots, lettuce, broccoli, celery, you name it, I've probably tried it. For some reason, this garden variety just didn't quell their appetites. Sure they ate some of it, but they always went back to my flowers... I know my area has squirrels, rabbits, skunks, moles or voles at a minimum. I've tried many animal deterrents and most of them have a strong enough scent to repel humans! This animal repellent by Safer Brand has little to no scent. I ordered this back in June and applied it when my flowers were actively sprouting and shooting. Each application is supposed to last 30 days, but I reapplied after every heavy rainfall and restarted the 30 day counter from my last application. The results: amazingly it seemed to have worked for me! This year, for the first time, all my phlox and stargazer lilies grew to full blossoms! (see pics). The main ingredient is castor oil, which is proven to be effective, so I was not at all that surprised that it worked. This year, I also purchased some ultrasonic animal repellents, so that may have contributed to deterring them from the area as well. The only other notable is what I read on the label. It says a couple of things, the first was that it was safe for children and pets. Good to know. But then on the backside, it goes to state not to apply to food crops or directly to water. Well my whole point to was protect my plants including my lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchinis, etc. I had applied this to the shoots as they were springing as this is when they're most susceptible to the critters eating them. I only ate the leafy parts and the fruit of the plants and not the stems, and I'm happy to note that I didn't have a bad reaction to anything. Mind you, I didn't really need to reapply much as my garden was able to grow within a few weeks after it was applied. Lastly, a couple of other notables under the directions for use. It states that the product should not be applied if pollinators are foraging in the intended treatment area. This makes sense, you don't want to deter the pollinators that are good for your plants (citronella oil, clove oil, and white pepper are also ingredients). This makes perfect sense to keep the pollinators happy, but once they've bloomed, the little critters are typically no longer interested in the plant. The other thing I wanted to point out was the final statement on the back label. The one where they claim that this product has not been registered with the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) because they believe this product is exempt under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act. Wait wut? Safer Brands is classifying this product as an insecticide and a rodenticide, yet it's safe for children and pets?! Overall, I ate what I sowed and I'm ok. But keep in mind everyone is different. I was lucky enough that I did not need to reapply this after my initial application when the plants were sprouting. By the time I was supposed to reapply, most of my plants were large enough that my furry friends no longer seemed interested in them. Also keep in mind I had a second, ultrasonic, deterrent in use as well. The repellent retails for $12 which is competitively priced with the competitors, and for the price, it's worth the try IMO. It won't break the bank if it doesn't work, and if it does, it'll be worth every penny...
