I am more open-minded than I once was
This is my first politically based book. Due to the increasing number of negative news, I have never been into political matters. I chose to read Kayleigh's book after I saw discrepancies in media. I searched her name on Twitter and found out she had this book. Not only was my decision to read this book based on her meetings with the press in the White House. It was also due to her faith background. I wanted to hear from her. Ever since I have more awareness of the political issues in our country, I have begun to realize that my "game show" view of our president is incorrect. If anyone wants to know the truth and has an open mind, they should read this book. I applaud the author for what she stands for. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about what it takes to search for the truth. As well as standing up for what you believe in. I hope the author writes more.

Recommended Reading
Two parts, the first part is about people. The second part is about policy. It is a light read and easily understood.

Full of heart
I love hearing the full story behind the people she writes about; people I'd heard about on the news in brief snippets. I have to keep a box of tissues handy because every person's story is heart wrenching and yet full of hope and healing. It is well written. It flows beautifully. I like that each chapter is a new story so if I have to put it down for a week I can pick it up and start fresh each time and not have to back track to remember what I had read the week before.

Love the personal stories from real Americans. Tells the underlying reasons why heartland America elected Trump over Clinton.

Not worth the money
Ridiculously biased, though in subtle ways. This book is meant to churn up emotions and felt too much like reading all the slanted memes on social platforms like Facebook. It's time we stop being so divisive in this great nation of ours. Cool heads, class, and compromise need to prevail. We do not need a new "revolution" (or civil war), and as much as I tried to read this with an open mind, I quickly realized it's a bully pulpit for extreme views masked as "for the common good."

Positive influence
I shouldn't be reviewing this yet since I am still in the introduction. However I have already been influenced positively. I thought Van Jones was the devil. I am so sorry Van Jones.

some sad for these families written about
Every chapter has me shedding tears, some sad for these families written about, but mostly for knowing how great our country and its people are
