Instant QOL upgrade for $30 or less!
For me the P238 is the perfect carry pistol for deep concealment. I can wear it with beach shorts and a t-shirt, I can stick it in a pocket, it can go anywhere with absolutely no fear of printing and it’s so small and light (for an all steel pistol) that I often forget I have it on me and sometimes have to double-check just to make sure I didn’t lose it! Also, modern .380 defensive loads can pack plenty of wallop, don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise! I sure as heck wouldn’t want to be on the business end of this baby 1911! I can even appendix carry this one, which is saying a lot coming from a fat guy - also it has an external safety so there’s less of a chance of blowing off your nether bits. So this is a review about the Hogue grip, why am I even mentioning the above? Because I like talking about guns, that’s why! So on to the grip: If you want an instant improvement in overall feel and you currently have a standard factory grip then buy this. It’s amazingly comfortable and it fits in my hand perfectly, well as perfectly as a pistol this small can fit in my hand, especially with an extended mag. Shooting with the factory grip was fairly uncomfortable to me and holding it felt like a weak handshake. The Hogue has a nice supple feel to it with a bit of added girth (my favorite word) so it never feels like it’s going to slip out of my hand, the finger grove offers a nice bit of added purchase. There are two minor nitpicks I have, but nothing worth knocking it down a star and one is more an observation and not really a nitpick. First, this grip will certainly add a bit more width. At the fattest area I’m looking at 1.217 inches (30.918 mm). With the stock grip before I was measuring at 0.958 inches (24.33 mm - YMMV), that’s roughly a full 1/4 inch difference, which is quite substantial on a pistol this small! It’s not as bad as it seems though, this is at the fattest part of the grip which is at the base, just below the finger groove. For the most part the grip is still quite trim, especially where it counts. The plus side is that this added girth comes with a whole lot of added comfort, and besides this pistol still nestles nicely in my fat folds with no printing. Overall I’m not going to call this a negative, this one is the observation. Second, and my one actual nitpick, is that the safety is sightly harder to engage because the edge of the grip where the safety is sits nearly flush with the safety switch so I kinda have to dig my thumb in to engage the safety. It’s not hard to engage, it’s just not quite as easy as before and I had to adjust the way I approach the safety. It’s really not a big deal but it is worth mentioning. Some final observations: I noticed one reviewer mentioned that the stock screws are too short for this grip, which is false. My screws are stock and there was more than enough purchase. I bet they didn’t align the holes just right (takes a l little finagling), so don’t worry about that. Speaking of screws, my screws were *extremely* tight (probably due to the factory thread locker). With one screw in particular I felt like I nearly stripped it (of course it was the last screw - it’s ALWAYS the last screw!). Thankfully I managed to work it out, but you want to make sure you have the right sized hex wrench otherwise you are very likely to strip a screw, 3/32nds was the ticket for me. Also, make sure to apply a drop of blue thread locker to prevent the screws from backing out, I figured since the factory did it then they did it for a reason so I might as well do the same. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, what is the coolness factor? Well, in my humble opinion it looks quite cool. The grip I had before had kind of a green/gray snake skin look to it, which was cool in its own way, but with the Hogue grip it’s cool in a more understated way. This for me is a carry-all-day type of pistol and for this type of gun I like a more understated look. This thing is less than $30 (as I type this) and as far as upgrades with a perceptible difference goes this is about the best bang for the buck you can get! It feels like a whole new pistol and it’s far more comfortable to handle and shoot. You can’t go wrong! If you hate it then just return it, but I suspect you will really like it.

Very nice, comfortable grips for the Sig P238!
I really like these grips for my little Sig P238. They feel great if you have a little bit bigger hands and the finger grooves really improve the ergonomics of the grip compared to the standard grip that already comes on the P238; especially if you're taking the P238 to the range for the day and shooting a lot of rounds through it. I will say that while these grips are great and work/fit as expected, most models of the P238 already come with nice wooden grips that are comfortable as well, and after using these for a while I ended up switching back to the wood grips that came on my Equinox model because of the slimmer and slicker profile which makes it easier to get in and out of a pocket for everyday pocket carry concerns. These Hogue grips are a little "grippy" when in a pocket which could be a problem if that's how you carry this little pistol. I still give it 5 stars though, as they're quality grips which feel great in the hand!

VERY GOOD GRIP BUT......
bought this for my SIG P 238 380 acp, fits well, gives you a nice grip with the finger impressions, but the only thing where it meets the safety, I think its either a little to thick or to high, before I can flip the safety off with the side of my thumb, now I need to use the tip of my thumb, might not seem like much but after being used to flipping the safety off one way for years, I now need to practice flipping the safety off with the tip of my thumb. outside of that its a pretty good grip for the price.

Much improved handling!
This was a huge improvement over the stock grips (and the upgrades I put on for looks)! It totally changed the character, look, and handling. Everything is better now, very functional. If you don’t have the stock grip screws, make sure you remove the clip before installing them and check clearances. I finally found my stock screws and they worked great with these grips.
