Saved me a LOT of time.
My son acquired a used guitar, and its electronics were not working. They had been previously worked on by someone else, and I couldn't make heads or tails out of what they had done. After messing with it, and getting nowhere for several day, I decided to rethink.Seeing this, I decided it would be much easier to install, rather than continuing attempting to repair the old stuff. As expected, this went right in, absolutely no problem with the installation. In a couple of hours, I had these electronics installed, new strings on the guitar, and also had the neck relief and intonation set.Easy, and DONE!The only negative (reason for 4-stars) is that these volume controls both have very little control. By 1/4 turn, they are already at full volume. There is very little control area. If you are one who uses volume controls a lot, you should probably plan to buy upgraded pots. For my son though, it is perfect!

Had to rewire it to make it work, and pots not working.
This is an update... the pots are questionable in that 2 of the 4 DO NOT work consistently when placed in the guitar. I originally had thought the pots were OK, but 2 of the 4 are worthless as they short-out consistently. They turn smoothly... they just don't work.So... summing it up -- the harness was wired incorrectly, and 2 of the 4 pots shorted out. The only things that worked correctly were the caps. Not exactly a good deal. What a waste of money and a huge waste of time.

Horrible workmanship, nonfunctional product and the seller doesn’t accept returns. Steer clear!
Horrible product. First issue, I had to resolder 3 wires due to weak factory soldering. Once I got it all together and tested the wiring one volume pot does not work and the other has no travel. It is more of an on off switch. I would like to return this item but the seller of course does not accept returns. Pretty good business model, make a crappy non functioning product for 3 bucks, sell it for 11 bucks and don’t accept returns. I will steer clear of this seller / brand of product. Buyers, you have been warned!

Doesn't work. Junk.
Does not work. Have it all wired up and no sound from either pickup. One pot spins too freely so I assume it's not working which is the main volume pot. Also the selector switch soldered on makes no sense as you can't install without taking it off and redoing it.

It is very convenient not to have to solder any of the pots though so I would still fully recommend this over a kit that hasn't had any soldering ...
It works really well. It should be noted that while it is pre-wired I had to unsolder both the three way switch and the output jack, feed the wires through the guitar cavity and then resolder them. You will need to solder. Make sure you take a picture of what wire goes where before you unsolder it. It is very convenient not to have to solder any of the pots though so I would still fully recommend this over a kit that hasn't had any soldering done. The pots are the smaller sized ones and don't seem to be a fancy brand, but they work perfectly, sound great and for the price they can't be beat. I highly recommend this product.

A very complete harness, easy installation
Because it is prewired/soldered, I had to unsolder the thruway switch and the output jack in order to run the wires through. That actually took the guesswork out of the connections since I could code the wires and connections. After the unsolder and resolder, it was probably 20-30 minutes and most of that was tightening the knobs and screws. Very efficient and all work after installations. The pots (knobs) are all very responsive and not bunched up in one area like some have been. So the volume increases and decreases evenly. The tone seems the same. Switch has no noise. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if I need one. Thanks oneflysky!

No instructions. No Rhythm/Treble Ring
How much would it cost to include a blow up copy of the wiring instructions showing which is 2 are volume, which 2 are tone. Less than 1 cent. How much would it cost to include a rhythm/treble ring? 3 cents?Nothing about this purchase, I can say anything good about. Bad solder connections, and once it's in, it's in.There goes my weekend plans for shotty work, and customer service. Very disappointed.

Easy to use for beginners and works well
My first time ever making an electric guitar and this kit was great, like others have said does not come with a ground but I cut up and old USB cord and used it's ground for the pick-ups sounds great no issues and no pops or anything when changing volume. Solder work was solid I ended up using only 2 pots and nixed the switch cause I did not need it. Over all very pleased and would buy again.

What you need to know before you order.
Picked up this wiring harness at the Post Office this morning. I wanted to rewire an Ibanez 2-pickup, 4-control guitar, that has had myriad wiring problems from the day I bought it from a well known auction site [much used and dirt cheap]. Finally, it would no longer play through the bridge pickup. I thought it might be the 3-way switch, but replacing that did not solve the problem. So, it looked like time to start with a clean slate.I looked at a wiring harness supplied by a well-known supplier of instrument parts. The cost of that was more than double what had I paid for the guitar. On a hunch, I checked amazon.ca and found this "oneflysky LP Electric Guitar Wiring Harness Kit."The first thing that caught my eye was that this kit, unlike some others I had seen in the same price range, had tone caps already wired in. [If you don't know what a tone cap is, you should probably take your guitar to a repair shop.] Most them did not. So, I pulled the trigger. Here's what you need to know. The supplier does not include a wiring diagram [This was pointed out in many of the reviews.], on the assumption ─ one assumes ─ that you wouldn't be doing this unless you had some idea what you're about. As well, there is more than one way to wire up a 2-pickup, 4-control-pot guitar. However, a tip-off that this kit won't work unless all the pots are grounded to each other would have saved me an extra hour of try this, try that, try something else. In short, I had some idea what I was about, but not quite enough to see, in advance, what I might run into. That's the reason for the 4-star rating. So, when I finally got both pick-ups working, individually and together, I thought my work was done. Then I realized that the tone pots were not doing anything; it was as if they weren't even there. I finally figured out that I had to add a jumper wire between the two tone pots to close the ground loop. Success at last. The reviews of this wiring kit run the gamut from great sounding, and dead easy, to never worked at all, didn't have the information I needed, and/or sounds crappy. As near as I can tell, this wiring kit uses the same components that I was replacing in my budget Ibanez guitar. In other words, cheap OEM parts, meant to keep the purchase price as low as possible. [Maybe that includes no testing, to insure that all the components are working before they're shipped.] So, you are getting what you paid for, unless one of the pots are stone dead, or the soldering is a bit slip-shod and something gets loose in shipping [which might be really hard to see, though you'd certainly notice the result].So, in the end, I got the Ibanez working properly again. Two thumbs up. How does it sound? To be honest, pretty much the way it did before [i.e., before it stopped working]. That's what I wanted or expected. Two thumbs up again. [Come on...a wiring kit is not going to make a budget Ibanez sound like a Paul Reed Smith, no matter what you paid for the kit.]The wiring kit supplied by the well-known supplier of instrument parts cost about four and a half times more than the oneflysky kit. Would it sound four and a half times better; I seriously doubt it ─ though I can't prove it without spending way more money and time than I'm willing to spend, just to prove the point. Will the oneflysky kit work well for the next twenty-five years? Maybe...maybe not. I'm 76 years old; it will probably last longer than me. If I get ten years out of it, I'll be satisfied; and if I'm still playing, I'll order the same kit again, and still be two and a quarter times ahead of the game money-wise.Given Amazon's no questions asked return policy, I'd not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone trying to bring an inexpensive guitar back to life. Would I use it in a $4000.00 guitar? No. But if I could afford a $4000.00 guitar, I could afford the well-known supplier of instrument parts' wiring kit.

Everythings there... but the instruction
I tought it would be an easy replacement... it s already pre-wired right ! well yes it s all pre-wired but not the same way as my guitare !!! Ok my guitar is a chinese copy so it might be different for that reason... Made LOTS of research and many dozens of specialized website about real Gibson and chinese copy. Saw many circuit configuration real Gibson classic wiring, Gibson modern wiring, chinese copy wiring, other model of guitare with 2 humbucker etc. never find one circuit like this one !!! If you think you could picture your guitar circuit and reproduce it... it wont, unless you unweld and reweld everything... and still the leg of the capacitor will be too short The best i could find was a cigar box guitar web site that explain the trial and error way to test the circuit out of the guitar. You need to set all your ground properly and put the guitare circuit out on a bech, than you plug the circuit in to an amp ! Than as the amp is on you can try to connect temporarly you pickuo "live" with each pin while stimulating the pickup by placing a tunning fork close from the pickup. when you have your 440hz out of the amp it s cause you find the right pin to connect it. Than just install inside of the guitar. good luck , i wish i had just a one page instruction to go with. extra note: while the ground circuit is ok... all good guitare wiring i saw ground on each of the pots.. it s not the case for that circuit. it would be a nice precaution to ground each pot... but this is welding for a circuit you buy whan you dont want to weld !Advice to the seller: invest 2 cents per kit to add a one page photocopy instruction ! even if it's just to let us know about wich pin we should weld the pickup wire.

You need to undo the Soldering on the switch and redo it.
Everything you need is there.... but it just seems so dumb to solder the wires to the toggle switch. There is no possible way to get that switch into your guitar without removing their Soldering and redoing it yourself. It just creates more work than needed.

Sounds great
Changed old flimsy electronics. No instructions. Soldering required. Not too complicated. My guitar sounds great will see in time. But perfect for SG Epi.

Fair for what the price is
The volume pots pretty much have no audio taper, it is nearly on-off. For the price, the product is pretty good, you do get what you pay for. It worked great for my project.
