Not a good replacement for MA1201
This did not wick. It absorbed the water and hardened. I’m using an Aircare MA1201, the factory filter provided me with a steady 45-55% humidity level. I replaced it with this. I could tell immediately it wasn’t the same as the original. Nothing more than paper. The Humidity level never peaked above 39% and as I’m writing this it’s currently 45° and raining outside.Spend the extra $ and buy the proper replacement.

You only need 2
For those with hard water...These can be cleaned (and reused) with Cleaning Vinegar ($1 per quart at a grocery store vs $12 for a new filter). So, you only need 2 filters in order to have an “endless supply” (more or less).Just dunk / leave the hardened one in vinegar for a few hours and then rinse and let dry. ...ready for another go. They may wear out over long periods of time but so far mine have not.

The best filter for this humidifier
This is the filter with an aluminum grid and does not collapse like some other filters I've tried. Tip: use a bread tie through the mesh to bind the top of the filter after installed to ensure it seals the filter ends together for maximum performance.

Good Wicks
These are wicks and not filters, they wick water to have air blown through them to add moisture to the air. They work well but like most wicks they last about a week before minerals in the water stop the wicking, to fix that buy 2 and swap them out, the one not wicking can be soaked in a solution of Distilled White Vinegar and water (1 gallon of water to 1 cup of vinegar), this pulls the minerals out and can be reused the following week, swap wicks each week soaking the perviously installed.

Doesn't work very well
This product seemed like a decent replacement for the wick in my humidifier, and was reasonably priced, but after installing it I realize it doesn't put out the humidity like other wicks.Other wicks had no problem maintaining 40% humidity in my home, but with this wick it struggles to reach 30%. My humidifier runs constantly now, while it used to cycle on-and-off, and I don't have to add water as often, so obviously not as much water is being put into the air. It's not really worth it. The whole point of the wick is to put water into the air, and this one doesn't do it very well. Better to pay a bit more $$$ and get a wick that actually humidifies.

Best option around without the harmful chemicals
These are affordable and they work well. They could last longer, but they’re not that expensive so it’s not really a serious issue to replace them every so often. The metal casing is great for keeping the filter in place, but if you don’t replace the filter as recommended, the metal does break down and it ends up in the water.Overall, these are really great and they don’t contain any of the supposed harmful chemicals that some of the other brands use to produce theirs. Highly recommend!

Horrible. Do not waste your money
I bought these because the ones I usually used had gone up in price. Do not waste your money.I am use to my humidifier filters lasting about 2 months. I have not changed anything. Still using the same bacteriastat. I put one of these in at the beginning of my heating season. Around the middle of November. I noticed as it neared the holiday season that my humidifier was running almost all the time. Which was unusual since it really hadn't been that cold, so my heater wasn't running all that much. Just before Christmas I decided to switch in a new filter. Well to start the filter separated, so I ended up with two pieces. one was doubled up and had a shiny almost metal looking piece on it and the other was a single. So I put the doubled one in the humidifier. In just under three weeks I noticed my humidifier was running all the time again. I usually set my humidifier on 50% but the humidity reading would not go above 39%. I promptly ordered some of the filters I used previously and sent the remaining two of these back for a refund.I received the new ones earlier this week and when went to put one in I noticed that the one in the Humidifier was completely dry except where it was actually sitting in the water. It was not wicking at all. Put the new one in and within 10-15 minutes the humidity reading went from 39 to 50.Needless to say, I won't be purchasing these filters anymore.
