Excellent kit for teaching about the diversity of microalgae (all different shapes, sizes, and colors). Strains arrived healthy and ready to grow. Note: this kit does not come with media and the algae in the kit require different media. If you intend to culture the algae, I would highly recommend ordering the individual kits that come with the specific medium required by the alga of interest. The Arthrospira culture in particular has been nearly "bulletproof", thriving in a number of different media (but it is sensitive to the cold).

Very excellent selection. All the cultures did well. I'd love to see an expanded selection of some additional robust varieties. I used a super high tech plastic grocery bag for the red algae that doesn't like direct light. They have all done, and are still doing, very well. Spirulina is a beast. Highly recommended.

Everything arrived very well, except for Isochrysis which got contaminated with nannochloropsis. Overall, it was a really good purchase!

This algae culture gives you a good selection of different types of algae that are easy to culture. It is a good starting point for teachers who would like to teach students how to culture algae, photosynthesis experiments and observation under microscopes.
