Excellent item.

I always have preference for Transcend, when I look for any digital storage products, external / internal harddisk or sd card. Transcend harddisk is Made in Taiwan. It took me a while to find out how to backup files from my macbook. As this harddisk is formatted in NTFS, good for Windows users but not for mac users who do not want the default backup option but backup selecting certain files instead. I erased the harddisk with EXFAT to ensure this can be accessed via mac or windows in the future. Copying files from mac to it is very fast and easy. I will recommend this external SSD harddisk to everyone.

Bought to create a portable back-up of my music. This now means I have my music backed up on 4 different drives as the music I own is either very rare or unreleased tracks by myself and other producers I know. The transfer was pretty fast, averaging over 100mbs per second, although the Hard drive was a bit warm after completing the 600GB odd transfer. I've read alot of people complaining that they've lost data due to this drive and I know the sinking feeling but only once have I experienced it. Ever since that horrid experience I now make sure I have 3 or 4 back-ups, especially since storage is so damm cheap. I paid £28 for this 1tb drive which is great value for the money however if you require better speed you can pick up a 250GB SSD for the same price or if you want your storage even more portable than a 256gb flash drive can be bought for under £20! If you have important data ladies and gentlemen it needs to be backed up multiple times, whether it's games, music, pron or your Aunt Maggie's birthday photos! Regardless of what data is of value to yourself just make sure, for the love of god, to have multiple back-ups!

A nice neat piece of kit. The only thing to dislike was the lack of instructions. Even the link provided inadequate and inappropriate advice for my own application. I wanted to use it with Apple's Time Machine, but neither set of instructions were really presented for a non-specialist user to pick up and run with. i.e. written by computer specialists who can't communicate with the general public.

Never let me down, unlike other brands.

I so recommend this brand. I got so disappointed after i bought storage from another company as I lost my data. They just disappeared. But with this magic device my faith is fully restored. I'm going to stick to this barnd like glue!

Great storage device, compact and robust - defo a good buy

I bought this one it is easy to set up with computer and easy to set up the backup system and it is the best hard disk which I have. I recommended to others. 100% fantastic and marvellous hard disk.👍👌💾

This is the second unit I have bought and found the setup very easy, just plug it into your computer USB port, give it a few moments to connect, and you are ready to start transferring images, Excellent storage capacity, and useful to have all your files saved to a quickly detachable exterior drive.

macのtimemachineでのバックアップ用に使っています。 裏で走るジョブなので書き込み読み出し速度は気にならず、普通にバックアップは取れています。 期待通りに動いてくれているかがわかるのは、バックアップから復元するときなので、macを買い替えるまで復元で使うことなく寿命を全うして欲しいですね。 SSDよりは大きいですが、静かに動いてくれているし、USB-C接続だけで別途電源も必要ないので繋ぎっぱなしでもスッキリ使えています。
