I use this in almost all of my diy’s. For the people saying the instructions aren’t there, they are on the actual bottle. It literally says .5%-1%. Which means you need to know how to formulate..or basically do simple math to use the product. If you can’t do either of those you probably shouldn’t be making beauty products just saying. It has no smell, no odor, just clear liquid. Slightly thick but not too thick nor runny. I personally don’t have a problem with a preservative not having an expiration date because mine doesn't stick around that long. I mean I like/prefer it but I can only speak for myself.

As I researched making my own face and body creams and lotions I was made aware that vitamin E is NOT a preservative!!! I always had been told it was!! Anyway, I learned of the wonderful preserving properties of Optiphen by a dermatologist friend and how I had to use very little to get the preserving results needed, so I found some right here!! I now can go about making my creams and lotions and not have to keep them in my refrigerator!! I'll be buying more as soon as I run out, but it does last for many ounces of my wonderful creams!!! 5 stars and a moon, is my own rating!!! :)

You can depend on this preservative for oil in water formulations.

The product is great and deserves 5 stars except for the fact that it came in a plastic bottle. The photo is misleading. I would give it 5 stars if Halaleveryday would just UPDATE the photo to show the real bottle. I don't think being misleading is Halal, but I am not a Muslim expert.

I used this product for making body scrubs and bath salts..

I am using this for my home made face creams and it does keep the fungi from growing on the surface. No problems so far.
