Thorough step-based consideration of issues facing adult children
Reading and discussing the text, and working the exercises in this workbook, steadily guide the user through a (self-)examination of numerous and varied issues confronting adult children. Includes identification and high-lighting of, and encouragement for, positive attributes, attitudes and conduct (amends, changed behavior, etc.). An excellent resource for progress towards Emotional Sobriety and the other 'gifts' of the ACA Promises.

This workbook is amazing.
If you are looking to recover from a history of parental abuse, dysfunction or alcoholism this is the workbook for you. It follows the Adult Child of Alcoholics meetings. Whether using it alone or in a group dynamic you won’t regret buying this book.

Depressing, but good
Overall quality of the printing is fine. I am in a ACA group, and going through the book is amazingly depressing and has exposed a lot of stuff I had buried for more than half a century. It is helping me learn why I have some of the bizarre reactions I do.

Totally life changing! Do this with a group!
Powerful workbook, great exercises that will change your life and give you insights into your behavior that you've never seen before. Even if you've done other 12 step work, this is the best because it incorporates not only your own healing but helps you understand how your family relationships shaped who you are today.
