Great for the gut.
I've used this product for the past 18 + months, 1 scoop per meal for my 3 year old 42lb mixed breed pup. She came to me as a 7-week old (too young to leave mom) rescue from a kill shelter in Texas. I immediately started her on a probiotic plus several other immune support supplements and the Rx vitamins. She also came with a ear yeast issue which was unresponsive to vet meds and her ear (only one) was still bothering her. Switching to the Rx Zymes, I think, has made a difference in combating the yeast. She has consist excellent bowel movements and has a varied diet of meat,(no chicken) fish, veggies and fruit. I found that feeding even the expensive kibbles made the yeast come back. Feeding raw and lightly steamed food + Zymes makes the difference

Excellent & good for long-term use
We love this for our sensitive GI dog & our elderly dog. We use it daily. As with Amazon, sometimes you get the older packaging & sometimes not.

Great for digestion
I was first introduced to this brand by my vet for a rescue dog with tummy issues (i.e., loose stools). It has helped him so much that I continue to use it for all my dogs and one cat. It also helped another dog with constipation issues. They do not mind the taste either. I use enzymes myself and know how important they are for health. To be fair, I have made other changes. I also use RxNutrigest and have changed their diet to semi-raw with veggies, fruit and meal bones. Even the cat gets fresh meat with bone broth. The change has been dramatic for the rescue dog - sores healed fast, his coat is glossy and soft, and shedding is at a minimum. Another benefit from the diet combined with these nutriceuticals is that their waste is minimal. I really like the mission statement of this company as well as the fact that they utilize herbs, vitamins and minerals as an alternative to prescriptive drugs. Kudos!

Recommended by my vet
It's hard to determine if vitamins are truly beneficial, but my veterinarian recommended RxZyme since I've been making my dog's food for the last 7 years. I stopped using commercially produced dog food following the melamine contamination several years ago. Prior to that, my dog had several episodes annually of vomiting/diarrhea, which the vet said was probably an inflammatory bowel problem. So, I switched to the following home-prepared diet: ground turkey + chopped carrots + celery, all sauteed in olive oil, fresh pureed sweet potato, chicken broth, RxZyme, and Vetri-Science Perio-support Powder. Occasionally, I'll add in some fresh avocado. She's been happy and healthy ever since and only had about 3 vomiting episodes in 7 years, compared to 3 every year. UPDATE: I'm still using the product and dog is still in excellent health. THANKS TO COMMENTERS: about avoiding avocado. While my dog hasn't suffered any ill effects, subsequent research revealed the same information as the commenters.

Newer version is better than the original powder
Purchase the newly labeled RX Xymes. The old jar powder is clumped together and damp feeling

Works!
Works great on our dog. She is a 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a sensitive stomach/intestinal gurgling and soft poop when this condition flares up. This was recommended by our vet along with Rx Biotic. We use one scoop per day on her dry food and alternate between Rx Zyme and Rx Biotic. The gurgling has almost completely stopped since she started this in November 2015. There may have been 2 times since we started using this product where her intestines have gurgled vs.every few weeks. And her poop has been solid close to 100% of the time. Adding the powder to her food has never stopped her from eating it. Good product. Vet even told me to order these from Amazon.
