Really beautiful coastal colors
After much deliberation, we ordered two sets of the Vancasso dinnerware for daily use. We had shopped and read many reviews of other pricier sets and decided to give these a try. At a great price and on sale, what could we lose? Our order arrived promptly and, because of excellent crating, none were chipped or broken. We are delighted. They are sturdy, but not too heavy. The speckled pattern is limited to an artfully designed crescent on one side. They clean beautifully in the dishwasher and are microwave safe. We love the array of different blue colors in the set. A great purchase, highly recommended.

Beautiful dishes
But, too heavy. Not as light weight as I needed.

They are heavier, as all stoneware is. The set is beautiful and durable. Really happy with this urchase.

Broken dish
Received package with one dish broken. Packaging does not have enough cushion to prevent breakage. I'm surprised more dishes were not broken. Other than the broken dish, the dishes were very nice. The colors were as shown.

Colourful stoneware
I was drawn to these dishes for their bright colours. We already use stoneware so I knew it would be heavy, but it's not too bad, actually. Lighter than the stoneware we already had. I'm not sure if this indicative of it being more fragile. I noticed there is a chip out of the bottom (outside) of one of the bowls already- not sure if it came like that, or if it happened here. I couldn't find a chip in the box or in my cabinets. I cringe a bit when I stack them, as there is a grinding sound and I fear for that nice glossy finish. But, after a week of use, we have no scratches and no further damage. There are 4 colours in the set- red, blue, green and orange. The green and orange aren't as vibrant as shown in the ad but I still like them. There is a shiny glaze finish with a spray of brown dots on one spot of each of them. I like it, personally. The size is good. I especially like the bowls, as our other ones are huge. These are a more normal cereal bowl size.I don't really have any issues with the dishes themselves. I was sent an irregular set, however. It's supposed to be a set of 4 bowls, dinner plates, and side plates. I received 4 bowls, 5 dinner plates and 3 side plates. Still 12 pieces, but someone got a little mixed up in the packing, I guess.Overall, I like these dishes a lot. They brighten up the table with lots of visual appeal. I would order them again.

Classic stoneware! So solid with some weight. Gorgeous colours!
I love this set of stoneware dishes, for so many reasons! Before I elaborate further, I want to note that stoneware is heavy as a rule. So, when you get this boxed set of dishes, it will be a very heavy one. Remember to handle with care. When it comes to durability, these dishes are as durable as stoneware can be. The glazed surfaces are perfect for all of the food you'll be serving and eating, hot or cold. But, stoneware isn't resistant to breaking if a dish takes a solid hit to the floor. These aren't dishes for little kids to handle.I also don't put any of my stoneware in the microwave. I think as a rule that's a good thing. Serving hot food on stoneware is one thing, but I've seen glazed stoneware develop cracks from putting it in the microwave too often. In this set you'll receive 4 large dinner plates which are approximately 11" in diameter, 4 smaller plates at 8" in diameter, and 4 bowls. The bowls are just under 6" in diameter around the rim, and 3" high. So the bowls are deep. From those dimensions you can see that this is not a dainty set of dishware. The plates and bowls aren't just solid, they're quite large. Personally, I use the bowls as soup bowls, and also as serving bowls for holding toppings when we have tacos or fajitas, or any other food that requires assembly. What I love about the colours - orange, red, blue, and green - are how stylish they are when combined. I ordered the dishes because the colour tones suit my preferred style, which is very chic retro. The dishes can make great accents on your table, like how I use them when family is gathered for a casual buffet style dinner. You can eat off the plates individually of course, but I do like them as serving dishes better.I also find them very decorative when artfully arranged on the kitchen counter and in my cupboards. You can accent your own kitchen aesthetic nicely with the colours and style of the stoneware. I can see these fitting in with retro, country farmhouse, and rustic themes. And they are summer festive as well.I'm so impressed with these dishes! In my opinion, they are well worth the price just for how versatile they are in style and use. They get a solid 5 stars from me.

Nice quality and finish
These are a fun and lively set of dishes. They have a good weight to them without feeling heavy or unweildly. No rough edges or unexpected flaws. They are meant to look rustic. They were packed extremely well, lots of thick cardboard and boxes around them so they should arrive safe and undamaged. After unpacking these I wanted to put them in the dishwasher right away so I could get to using them. One thing to note...the dinner plates are large. So large that my current configuration of dishwasher rack levels would not allow me to put the dinner plates in. I have a 3 rack dishwasher that can have the levels of each rack changed, so I could adjust for the dinner plates, but that would mean compromising for tall glassware on the second rack. I opted instead to hand wash the dinner plates at this time. Not sure if that is a good long term solution or not. So be aware that these are bigger than an average dinner plate if dishwasher height is a factor for you.The colors are lovely and well represented by the photos I included. My husband favored putting all the same colors together so each guest would get their own color set, but I like to mix and match them I did find that they worked best in pairings of two colors, but really so many options.I did heat up soup in the bowl and the bowl did get very hot to the touch. I would not say more hot than my other ceramic dishes, but something about the shape of the bowl made you have to have more hand to surface contact to pick it up than my other ones. I ended up using oven mitts to tranfer to the table. Not a big deal, but something to note if using these with children perhaps.
