EdgeStar IB121 15 Inch Wide 12 Lbs. Capacity Built-In Ice Maker with 15 Lbs. Daily Ice Production - Stainless Steel

This is my third one. They seem to last 5 or 6 years on a covered outdoor deck.

I have had the ice maker now for less than a months and so for so good. It came promptly and well packaged and I had no problem with the installation. It replaced a U-line ice maker that I have had 3 of over a 25 year span. Though this Edgestar is smaller in capacity it is 3 times cheaper than the U-line. This is not a bad trade off if I get several years of service from this one.

This ice machine came in and didn’t work. We contacted the manufacturer. They are out of this model. We called the warranty company and told them what it was doing. They sent a relay switch, but didn’t have anybody in our area to service. We found our own service man. He replaced the part and it still didn’t work. He thinks it may be the compressor. We talked to the manufacturer this week. They are expecting this to be restocked in October and they will ship us another one, but we have to package the non working one up and ship it back to them what a hassle!! In the meantime, we have paid more than $500.00 for a non working ice machine and won’t get a replacement until at least October. At least the customer service people have been nice.

The first one shipped wasn't creating a really frozen temp inside so they sent another, and it's been no problem.

Makes plenty of ice. Shut off and open door to defrost every week or so. Easy hook up to water line. So far after several months no problems

Easy hook-up. Works great right out of the box producing around 12 pounds of solid crescent shaped ice cubes. It definitely beats paying the $600 it would have cost me to repair the old U-line, which would have been at least twice the price to replace!

We replaced a similar Edgestar that had lasted 8 years before starting to freeze unevenly. At first, we were disappointed that the newer model uses a plastic inlet hose, rather than the old braided metal one. The initial order also arrived damaged and wouldn't chill, but we contacted Edgestar directly and they were champs in handling a replacement. It shipped the same day, and it is a powerhouse in making ice. Tips: be sure to keep unit upright for 24h before powering up, and then try plugging it in for 20m or so to be sure it's chilling before you bother plumbing it--we think our original order leaked out refrigerant during shipping. Edgestar was great to work with and arranged residential pickup of damaged unit.

I bought this to replace my old Edgestar ice maker. My old one lasted for 12-15 years and did a good job. This one is even better. It makes more ice than I can use. I love that it freezes, does not need a drain, and has its own water line. It is just like my old one except better. I bought another one for my parents since their fridge ice maker quit working. We just diverted the water line and hooked this up.
