These Pass Through CAT plugs are easier to thread cable through, and crimp into place nicely. I take my time fitting them before crimping, and haven’t had a failure yet.

Used for my Cat 10Gbe re-wire these, in conjunction with a professional RJ45 crimp tool, made connections quick and simple. The feed through type need a pair of good end cutters to finish off. The cheap tools claim to do everything in once but I had little luck with them.

I bought this 20-pack of Cable Matters Cat8 RJ45 connectors hoping for quality and ease of installation. Unfortunately, they didn’t live up to expectations. The connectors are supposed to fit 23-24AWG cables, but I found them quite tight and tricky to feed the wires through. The pass-through design should make wiring easier, but in practice, some wires didn’t sit properly in the contacts after crimping, causing connection issues. I had to redo several connectors, which wasted time and parts. The strain relief boots are a nice touch, but they don’t make up for the poor build quality of the connectors themselves. The gold plating feels thin, and the plastic parts seem fragile. Also, the packaging states these are not compatible with 22AWG cables, but that’s not very clear upfront, which was frustrating since I have a mix of cables. In summary, these connectors might be okay for certain cables, but they require care and patience. I’d suggest looking for better-quality connectors if you want reliable and hassle-free network terminations.

This item is for a pack of 20 shielded RJ45 plugs, rated to Cat 8. This review is for the "pass thru" type, so you have to trim the ends after crimping the plug on. Unusually, the plugs have an insert that your wires go into first, and then this is inserted into the plug, making it doubly fiddly. Not quite sure of the reasoning for this, other than to make a relatively straightforward task more fiddly. I do like the fact it has an easy to crimp shielding tag on it, which is far better than a lot of the ones I'd previously used which have an eyelet. Depending on the cable type, you will still have to wrap one of the wires around the shielding and ensure the shield tag crimps it nicely. I used these on some external shielded Cat5, and no issues running at 1Gbps over a 30m run. If you need shielded, whilst a bit fiddly in some areas, these are as good as any. If you don't need shielded, use normal plugs.

These connectors work well Good value Easy to connect up with cat 6 cable. Note that…. and this applies to all Ethernet connectors…. Make sure that the ends of the wires protruding thru the connector are trimmed really flush with the connector, else you may not get the “click” when inserted into the matching female connector. This is very important

Other than measuring an exact amount of cable to strip, these are very easy to use. The load bars help line up the wires perfectly. The only thing I needed to do was get a flathead screwdriver to push the guide all the way in.

We used numerous of these male cat8 connectors. It was a little tricky with our cable that did not have the color stripe on each white wire, but we spent a little more time to check each connection. Overall, very good for the price.
