We were disappointed in these at first since I bought them for wooden tracks. Now they work horribly on wooden tracks unless you have little to no curves on your track. The plastic tracks are the answer they will run the course will not flip over nor come off the track. Super cute great realistic train sounds too my grandson loved them once we had em on the right tracks.

Works very well with the wooden tracks. Is a little slow but strong when pulling uphill.

The media could not be loaded.  This battery powered train engine and car set is great. It works better than I expected based on some of the other reviews. It has been going strong during play for over a week. We have a second hand set with only three wooden cars, but this engine pulls them just fine up and over the draw bridge. Rubber gaskets on the drive wheels provide good traction. The wheels on the cars were a bit squeaky at first, a light application of wd40 made them completely silent, but avoid coating the drive wheels on the engine or it may not get enough traction for hills. I left one star off because the box car had the magnets installed in the same orientation on both sides, in the same polarity as the engine. Meaning that the car would not connect to the engine in either orientation. I was able to disassemble one side and reverse the magnet, so it works fine now. I should not have to take apart a brand new toy and fix something that should have been installed correctly at the factory with a very easy quality check before it makes it out the door. That said, the look and performance of this train is excellent and I would buy it again over the other options I found online.

I have had two of these. The first was dead on arrival and returned. The second as mentioned in other reviews had a battery compartment hatch that was flimsy and failed a week after use. Extremely difficult to change the battery and the design is so poor it only lasts for a short time. Returned for a refund and will purchase a better quality train.

This motorized train for wooden tracks is fantastic! It's very sturdy, and the battery life is impressive. The train is stable and doesn't fall off the tracks easily. It's easy for small children to understand and operate, and it makes cool sounds. My kids absolutely love it.
