I bought these for vacation on the beach, and we are full grown. They worked wonderfully and held up to our adult pressure and stresses of digging in wet beach. Found many hidden gems of shells well into surf and one shark tooth. So simple to assemble, with spare locking washers, and even unassemble for gifting to my grandlittles, whom are next to find the joy of these. We will be borrowing these from them next year, or buying another set. They are a beach must have.

An 11 year old and a 4 year old both enjoyed these! It’s nice that they adjust for different heights of people using. They held up well. O took one star off as the basket tended to become loose and we’d have to stop and tighten it again for the 4 year old. Not hard to do but annoying for a young kid. I’d purchase again though. They held up well while they sifted through both dry and heavy wet sand.

We were able to find beautiful shells and even a shark tooth! It was a lot of fun. Very easy to put together and very light weight.

Not thrilled with this item rusting out as quickly as it did. Used them only 3-4 times for shelling & shark’s teeth. Rusted on all connections

These are great value for money, the basket screws on well and they are light weight while being extending to a reasonable distance. I have two big complaints about the unit I received and one minor one:1.) They came smelling like gasoline. I'm guessing it was used as a solvent at some point in manufacture, but they will need a thorough cleaning before I let a kid hold them.2.) The locking mechanism for the extension seems flimsy and bad. I doubt that it will last.3.) The screw-on adapter is a non-standard size for other extension poles. You will need an adapter to adapt the thread size on these to a standard extension pole, which means that you are basically stuck with the stock poles and as per issue #2 I don't think those will last for years, perhaps not even months of heavy use.

Easy to assemble. It allows you to adjust the length, which makes it great for all ages and heights. I used it and enjoyed the ease of sifting through the sand without getting so dirty with sand.

Packaged nicely. They were decent. One broke the first day of shelling-I was too hard in it. I was knee deep in water and dug under the sand and it snapped in half. If you stay on the surface, it works fine. We left the other one there as I’m sure it would have broke after a few more uses. It was a back saver for sure. We donated to someone at the resort. It’s definitely just for vacation and not a long term use item. Also the mesh is pretty big so tiny shells can pass through-like the little screws or cocinas. Would recommend for a short shelling trip. I’d give it a 3.5 if I could.
