Why did you pick this product vs others?:I wanted a small welder to run off the back of an electric vehicle when out camping to do emergency repairs at festivals. This works great. I first bought one of the hand held flux core welders with the little feeder wire ends but it failed as the wire regularly gets caught and wont feed.. this makes it hard to control the speed of the weld the way you can with this stick style welder. Overall this has been a great little welder to have in the back of the truck and the repairs have already paid for itself.

Out of the box the welder did do a great job. Good penetration. However, I only had a little light duty weld to do and couldn't finish the job because the welder quit working. It didn't get hot, but I tried again the next day. The welder won't turn on anymore. There is no smell like something burned up. I would not recommend this welder to anyone. $100 for 12" of a light duty weld is not cost effective
