They grew quickly!
I bought these segments of horseradish root for growing…I received two segments, and when they arrived they had some white fuzzy mold starting to grow on them… I cleaned them off with peroxide and put in the fridge while I tried to get around to figuring out where to plant them… I got back to them a week or two later, and they had started growing the white fuzzy mold again… I cleaned with apple cider vinegar(please note this was all an experiment, I’ve never dealt with a horseradish root/plant before in my life… but had read that they are such tough plants that will grow easily, so I wanted to see if they would still grow)… I planted them about three inches into some poor quality dirt… and they grew!!! Leaves started growing out of the dirt quickly, I think no more than a week after planting them! So I’m very happy with them. I think the mold was an understandable result of natural product that was in a box with moisture for too long which I’m assuming is unavoidable due to shipping distance… I’d much rather have the mold than chemicals to prevent the mold. Thank you for the horseradish:) I look forward to learning how to use it in cooking, because I love the flavor of horseradish. I also tasted the leaves and they are good too:)

Much Better Quality
This fresh horseradish is much stronger than the product I ordered in the past from another seller on Amazon. I use fresh horseradish to make Fire Cider, a wonder elixir created by Rosemary Gladstar, that helps with colds, flu, allergy, and the like. I also received this product 1-day early. It was wrapped in a semi-damp towel and placed in a plastic zip lock. When I removed the horseradish from the manila mailer, I could smell how strong it was without removing from zip bag. I'm really happy and now have a new jar of Fire Cider processing in my kitchen cabinet. Thank you Seller and Amazon. UPDATE: I'm ordering more today: a double batch this time. I'm now making a daily elixir with H/R root that I love. I add so much to it and feel safer from the dreaded virus/s going around in the US. In Jan I believe I had COVID-19. I've never been so sick in my life. Now I make my own medicine, with H/R as the base. Try simmering (20-30 min) 2-cups water with 1-2 TBS H/R, fresh turmeric, ginger root, garlic, chopped onion and jalapeno pepper, 1/8 tsp black pepper, tad cayenne, 1/2 squeezed lemon with some rind, and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Strain into mug, add honey to taste. Wait till it cools some then add 1-2 TBS apple cider vinegar (Bragg). It's delicious and good for you. Plus how could any virus live in this? <smile> UPDATE 13 Jun 2020 I planted a good size tuber in a 5-gal grow bag. And two days ago I was happily surprised to find about 5 little darlings poking their heads out of the soil. It took a little over 3-weeks to germinate. I've never used a grow bag and never planted horseradish before, so I am pleasantly surprised this is working. Oh, my gosh, I'm so happy. But I still need more to shred for my elixirs as I'm almost out, so today I will order another 8 oz. from this company. I'm also looking at dandelion root. That is going to be another one of my passions for health and wellness.

Good quality for multiple uses
I used half of my order to slice for infusing vodka, and I planted the other half to grow more. The piece I used to plant was refrigerated for almost 2 months before I put it in the ground. To my surprise, it grew nice big, green leaves within 2 weeks. The vodka I infused took on a nice strong flavor that mellowed over time. This is the perfect taste for me. I did not need to add any honey to subdue the flavor at all. 3 weeks with the root slices in, and one week with them out did the trick!

SO fresh you can smell the dirt!
The horseradish came quicker than I expected and was very fresh! I went to local stores and the products they had were moldy and mushy. I was very happy with my order.

Growing great so far
Planted in a pot and has grown very quickly and easily (10b zone). I’m planning to replant in a much bigger pot soon. Haven’t had the chance to see how the underground growth has gone but the above ground is promising.

Fantastic
I can not purchase fresh horseradish where I live and normally I drive 45min to a grocery store who only sometimes has it. I took a chance in the name of my beloved fire cider and ordered this. It’s the freshest horseradish I’ve ever had and it’s perfect for what I’m using it for-I appreciate the prompt shipping and the quality. It’s just like a large root you’d purchase at the grocery only better.

Very poor quality for consumption. Not even sure its actually horse radish root.
Very very disappointed. The horseradish root was very old, fiberous, woody and bitter. It looked like a knotty tree root, has no smell and was dried out. The piece I was sent was a bit smaller then a tennis ball and round instead of oblong. Not even sure it is horse radish. I was going to use this in making fire cider, however the quality is not there to release the goodness of a fresh root! BUYER BEWARE!

The pieces arrived in a large zip lock bag with some damp dirt. I wasn’t able to plant them right away but they still stayed healthy. I put them in a pot of dirt and dig them about a foot down and they are now growing beautifully with zero drama. I’m growing it inside

I don't know what they think is a horseradish tuber the packet and I mean packet looks like it was a bunch of twigs off any old tree. Dried out and brown they snapped like a twig they were that dried out

I finally got the horseradish roots, didn’t think I would get them after the phone call from customs. Thank you

I gave 3 stars as they are seeds and not roots as advertised. There were 100 seeds in the package. I will need to wait for spring to to grow.

I expected root, from the description but it was seeds. Also took forever to come, badly labelled and I believe it is from China
