Camlink Film Scanner 10 MPixel LCD 3600DPI [CL-FS20]

The scanner is a very good and well mad product which is let down by its 'iffy' auto white balance. You can load a strip of negs which look reasonable but you find that the colour is way off beam but re-load them and voila, all suddenly seems okay. Given that I scanned roughly 2,800 negs, I reckon the auto white balance total failure rate where no amount of fiddling with it corrected the problem was probably in the order of 10-15%.Loading the negs is pretty easy with little nubs moulded in the carrier to enable precise positioning. Then it's just a matter of pushing the carrier through the scanner and hitting the record button to write each neg to your SD card.Two slide carriers are supplied, one very much like the negative holder with places for 4 slides and a fast loader version which holds up to 12 slides and you just push a sliding lever to and fro to eject one slide and insert the next. This can jam if the slides are old and the cardboard has begun to distort.Only two stars for Tech Support because the manual does leave a lot to be desired.All in all this is a reasonably good unit given the price and for a basic scanner it's okay.
