Wildly Awesome Paper!
This paper is wild and awesome! By applying diluted acrylic paints to the dampened paper surface, the two elements create unusual patterns once the paint and paper are dry.The texture of the paper is similar to tissue/gift paper. It is strong and holds up to water and paint. Fine lines within the paper are throughout. I recommend this paper as a great surface for painted papers to use in collage art.

Great paper and packaging
I don’t know why reviewers complain about the packaging of this paper because it’s pretty clever actually. I buy a lot of different papers from Amazon and it’s not uncommon for them to come damaged in the mail. This one you just have to open the roll up and pull a few sheet out, tighten the roll (which takes a couple of seconds) and cover with the protective plastic then place a rubber band loosely around it and stick it on a shelf or in a drawer until you need a few more sheets. I feel like you get a lot of nice sized paper for the price. I mostly use it for Gelli prints and you have 2 different textures depending on the side you choose. I’ll definitely get more when I run out and I can’t say that about most of the papers I get.

Very Interesting Paper Suggests New Possibilities
Description: This paper is almost as translucent as tea bags, with one ultra smooth side, one crepe-y side and a slight striped pattern of translucency from the moulds. There’s very little difference between the degree of "bounce" with or against the grain. It's made from pH neutral / acid free “virgin wood pulp" (probably bamboo). The grain line runs parallel to the faint mould stripes.—-------------------I tested the basic properties of this paper extensively. Here’s what I found, including my recommendations for use and the factors which contribute to its projected degree of success in a given application:Recommended uses (in alphabetical order)–bookbinding including origami books, traditional books made from translucent paper, scrapbooking, sheets to protect artwork bound within: crisp folding, translucency, acid free–collage: wet strength, translucency, straight line tears on a moistened fold line leaving a very fine deckle edge; dimensional collage possible with crumpling and gluing or with stretching lightly over a form–origami: large square shape, light weight, crisp folding with or against the grain, dyes most easily with alcohol inks, therefore easy to achieve multi-color effects–painting, especially watercolors and alcohol inks: wet strength for more control on wet-in-wet passages as most paints and soluble pencils don’t spread until blended, (exception: alcohol inks); very little stretch, easily withstands application and removal of low tack tapes when in the dry state. Acrylics don’t spread as easily.–paper cutting including detail work like kirigami or scherenschnitte: white paper, cuts easily with scissors but only with the sharpest of craft knives, tears in straight lines on moistened fold lines in either direction with a fine deckle edge. Thinness of paper enables large number of folds on which one can cut.–printmaking: wet strength, acceptance of colored media without spread, thin paperNot recommended–sculpture based on score lines (paper scores and forms but not easily or cleanly)–pH neutral wrapping paper for Victorian leaded silks (lead leeches into acid free papers, spreading damaging acids into all areas of vintage quilts and other pieced items)

Very Versatile
Originally purchased to use in mixed media art but found it has many uses. I've used it for drawing and even have a sheet I keep wet to use as a mop-up cloth.

Big mistake
The paper didn't hold up to paint at all ! Every time I placed the paint to paper the paper would grab hold of the paint and sick to the brush and with 1 brush stroke the paper would come up with the paint brush. What a mess . I tried it out with water color not good! Acrylic not good!I ended up using the paper to cover the table under another canvas

Divine for making handmade papers
I got this paper for gelli printing… it is truly DIVINE! It doesn’t rip easily and I love how well it collages on paintings, books, and cards. I liked this paper so much until I bought 3 more for my studio work! I also used it to gift wrap some small packages by adding ribbon and wax seals!

Fun paper to play with and lots of possibilities
I had fun playing with this paper and my watercolors - I wanted to make a couple of backgrounds for my junk journal. The paper is between opaque and translucent. You can definitely see through it (photo 1) but it’s not sheer or like tissue paper. What I love love love is you can soak this paper and it can take it (it IS teabag paper after all!). One side is smooth and the other is a little textured….I didn’t notice until it was wet that there are some faint texture lines. I also love that this paper dries without getting all wrinkly like regular paper does after it gets soaked. The blue sample is paint on the rough side and what it looks like on the back; the yellow-orange sample is paint on the smooth side and what it looks like on the back. I like both back sides and will probably use the paper that way. Either that or I’ll just spray the painted side until it runs together more.I can’t wait to try this will my gelli plate and other paints. SO SO happy with this product!
