I know these are templates for quilting, but I actually use them as templates in my drawings and my journal. They are great for making lines to write straight in my journal. Couldn't ask for a better product. They are thinking and sturdy and I like them better than most templates just for journaling. Highly recommend.

These are so thick that it’s hard to find any kind of pen or pencil that I can use them with. I should have returned them.

Sometimes, I need to mark curves, diagonals, lines, or points on the fabric I'm sewing. Straight lines and points are easy, but diagonals and curves require much greater effort to achieve precision. These stencils seem like a good way to simplify the process. The stencils measure about 4.75 inches square, so they'll be especially good in creating quilting blocks. I tested them using pen and paper first, and it was a bit difficult to get the pen to reach the paper through the stencils. Next, I tried them with fabric and fabric marker. This worked much better because the marker nib is longer than the pen nib. I'm quite happy with these stencils and will use them with sewing, quilting, and hand embroidery.

I was so excited to get these and so disappointed to find them so hard to use.

The stencils are made from clear acrylic. There is a protective film on either side that needs to be removed. The half circles stencil has markings for the diameters, and there is no markings on the rest of the stencils. The stencils are clear to see where you are marking.
