Clear, strong and easy to use. - I've been casting with epoxy resin for a few months now. After looking for cheaper alternatives to Ice resin, I found Alumilite Amazing Clear Resin. Alumilite resin, while cheaper, does have a very slight yellow-ish cast. You won't even notice it unless you had it next to another identical piece cast in another kind of resin. I came across this seller/brand and figured for the price, I'd give it a try. I only do small castings (1oz. or less at a time), so I needed to make sure this would work. Based on the description here and on their website, it seemed it would work for my projects (which include magnets, ornaments and buttons). Instructions were found on their website, as well as included with the product. It's mixed just like Ice and Alumilite - stir for 2-3 mins. with flat stick, scraping the sides. I don't agree with their instructions to "mix vigorously", as that creates more air bubbles. So, mix slowly. Then, let it sit for 3-5 mins. so some of the air bubbles rise and pop. It pours nicely and can be de-molded in 24 hours. It's rock hard in 48 hours. It's very clear and I prefer it over Alumilite. I will continue to use this brand as it's worked out very well for me! The only downside is that since I do such small pours, I had to put it in a different container that had a small opening for pouring. Cost per oz. (including shipping) as of this writing is $.70/oz. Check out the seller's website for cheaper pricing and larger sizes. Review: I am a geologist, and I purchased this epoxy ... - I am a geologist, and I purchased this epoxy as a bit of an experiment. I wanted to see if I could use it to fill the void space in an extremely porous carbonate crust in advance of sawing/polishing the thin section billets. It ~almost~ worked. I had to thin the epoxy with a bit of acetone to get into all of the hollows, but the acetone reacted weirdly with something in the epoxy and some trace minerals and organic material in the rock, so I ended up with a buncha soft spots and discoloration. Oh well. It was worth a try, and it was definitely much less expensive than the lab epoxies.

FANTASTIC for countertops!!! Awesome product
This is an AWESOME product! If you follow the directions exactly as they are listed that come with the epoxy, you will be golden. I used this product as the final "coat" over concrete countertops (vanities in bathrooms and all of kitchen counters). It was a little trial and error for me because as a first time DIYer using epoxy, I was a little too enthusiastic with how quickly I thought I could pour this on the vanities in both guest and master bathrooms and mixed ONE BATCH for both...bad idea. So my advice is to be conservative on the amount of time you think it will take you to pour the epoxy (especially if you are pouring on countertops that have a sink that take extra care to go around) and overcalculate a bit on how much you mix because you would rather have a little leftover that you can just pour on thicker than run out.... This epoxy took these to a whole new level! From generic old formica, overlaid with 4 coats of Ardex concrete Ardex- Feather Finish 10 lbs , stained with Minwax wood stain, sealed with Miracle Sealants 511 Miracle Sealants 511 QT SG 511 Impregnator Penetrating Sealer, Quart and then topped with this amazing epoxy. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Note: I am not being compensated for sharing this awesome review or any product links, I am just one very happy DIYer who likes to share details on successful projects :)

not what I expected

The color is as close to perfectly clear that it didn't change the color of the cloth at all other than the usual darkening like
Okay, just to let you know I didn't buy this to coat my bartop, table top or even to make jewelry. I bought this to make my own micarta at home. This epoxy worked and allows enough time to actually make plenty of layers for 1/2" thick micarta knife scales. The color is as close to perfectly clear that it didn't change the color of the cloth at all other than the usual darkening like wet cloth always looks. Much better than the box store resins that make everything look yellowed. I'll be buying more of this as it works the best of anything I've tried.

Easy to work with
I've been using this resin for a few projects. The most recent one is a cedar table top. Easy to work with. I found measuring out part B first is easier, it's much more viscous than part A. Use painters tape and wax paper for damming. I used a flush bit on my router to smooth things out. A thin coat over everything will clear it right up. MIX WELL!

This was very easy to use and the results are perfect
I've never done the clear table top coating before although I've used many other types of epoxy, polyurethanes and polyurea coatings. This was very easy to use and the results are perfect, absolutely stunning. I'm very pleased and will buy it again for a larger project. This first project was a test project to see how well it would come out.

Try It, You'll Like It!
I had never used a two part epoxy resin before and was worried about how it would work. I was pleasantly surprised. It is easy to work with and mix, it flows well, the directions on bubble removal were right on, and it is as clear as glass. I'm very happy.
