Gripping read!
Ian Hernon does it again! He presents a well-researched historical work, delivered with punchy, journalistic prose. It is all too rare that one finds a book with historical depth that is also a gripping read. This book is exactly that. I highly recommend it, especially for American readers looking for a unique introduction to a fascinating point in British history.

Excellent
A thoroughly informative potted history of each campaign. The icing on the cake is of course the contemporary sketches from the like of Melton Prior.

Does what it says on the cover.
Have a growing collection of Anglo-Zulu and Boer War campaigns so a useful addition for any military history enthusiast of that era.

Ian Hernon does a great job in bringing together well written analysis and a clear and related pictorial history. The period is a facinating one and this book helps to bring it to life in an exciting and informative manner - very much recommend it to other readers
