It's a beast ...
Wow you get a lot of kit for the money, gloves, goggles, Alan key, metal disc blades, plastic grass blades, a metal cord for harder wood etc, 2 batteries, shoulder strap and a charger. Absolutely bargain at this price. It's a powerhouse piece of garden kit, with a fully adjustable shoulder support strap and safety features. Amazing amount of choices for how you need to tackle garden yard work.Even though it's a sturdy machine in its own right it feels light enough but at the same time strong so that all kinds of gardeners could use it safely and comfortably with practice.I would suggest that you purchase suitable safety footwear as it spins very fast and if you are using the metal blades safety must be paramount. It really is not for the faint hearted.I've only just received it and the inclement weather means I can't see it in action but I believe it will more than tackle the jobs I need doing.

Great!
I used this for the first time this afternoon and was very impressed by the performance. It's very easy to use with good battery life and having a spare battery is very helpful. As others have said, it is quite heavy so you get a bit of a workout whilst using it. The extension pole and the ability to easily adjust the angle of the cutting head make it easy to cut the top of a high hedge but it would be good to be able to use it without the pole to reduce the weight when cutting lower parts.Overall I think it's a worthwhile purchase. Hope it's as durable as it feels.

An amazing long reach hedge cutter, from Terratek, which keeps on top of my high & wide hedges.
I was so impressed with this long reach hedge cutter from TERRATEK that I bought another one today. The old one was from 2020, and still runs today, perfect, even the batteries have lasted. This new one, arrived again with two spare batteries, battery charger too, and as you can see from one of my images, I have quite task keeping the high and long hedges trim and level several times a year. One of my images, and this is important too, shows my old 2020 model next to the new 2024 one, and this is to show just how reliable these are. Another image, possibly important too, is to show (as a helpful hint) how I lost a retaining orange screw and bolt a while back (on my old one), so now use a jubilee clip. Still works perfect. So be careful not to lose that orange extender retainer.I am delighted with this hedge cutter, which deserves more than 5 stars, and as its the same model, again i can interchange same batteries, and now have 4 batteries between both hedge cutters. Thank you again for keeping this so affordable model available.

9 Month review - Outstanding performer.
First of all, I will state that I'm a Makita fan. Most of my electrical garden & DIY equipment is Makita brand and mostly cordless/battery operated. I am a gardener and was looking for a long reach battery operated hedge cutter. I read a few articles, watched some You Tube video's and then read even more articles on what was available. I was erring toward a Makita but the £300 price tag was making my eyes water, so I eventually convinced myself that at a third of the cost this Terratek would possibly fit the bill. And if it didn't I wouldn't be massively out of pocket. I did order an extra battery as I felt just the one wouldn't be sufficient. I've probably used it to around 20 - 25 hedges of varying size and constitution so far. The blade has kept its edge and no degradation of the batteries that I can tell.So 9 months in, what's the pros and cons?Pro's -Incredibly light, which in turn makes it easily manoeuvrable.Telescopic, for those hard to reach higher bits, no need for a ladder.Adjustable head, very useful.Battery life, amazing. I have just cut the top of a 25 metre hedge which is a mixture of Ivy, Cherry Laurel and Hawthorne. I had to do both sides and total time for that bit was about an hour +/-. The battery indicator was on Amber. Which for a 1.5a/h battery is amazingly good. And recharging takes no time.Cons -Just the one and really I'm nit picking with this one. The balance is biased toward the head, a heavier/larger battery would make it better balanced. But in reality it's not that bad. Just makes your arms ache a little if you're working at full extension and lower than 45 degrees to the vertical.Would I buy another? - In a heartbeat.

Do not buy this!
Cheap tat!Used twice got it out after winter it would not work.. it’s either the battery or the motor. Was kep in dry shed . Simply busted with no apparent reason. If it’s the batteries (both of them) had a life span for charging once or twice in total.. either way it’s not worth a penny let alone so called reduced price of £89. Do not spend your money on this … buy something else!!

It broke on the first use
The whole system is good, It is light, easy to use and the blades are sharp. Extending it is easy, two batteries. A good price. However on the first time I used it on a yew hedge the blades jammed on a 8mm stem.( it should cope with at least 14mm according to the brief) From then on the motor started screeching. When this happened the blades slowed right down. I oiled the blades but it made no difference as soon as the blades are put to a hedge they slow down and the motor screams. This all happened in the first 10 minutes of use. I have checked other reviews and a lot of people have had the same thing happen. There are far more good reviews than bad so I am not sure why I got a duff model, It has been returned to amazon for a refund. I liked the system but I cannot recommend it because the one I had was so short lived.
