Gorgeous book
This book was bought for my wife and this is her review. After having bought and loved Jasmine Beckett-Griffith's other book, A Fantasy Art Adventure, I decided to buy the Halloween version too. This 'Spine-Tingling Fantasy Art Adventure' is every bit as good as the previous one. It has a really nicely decorated removable dust cover which features a few images of the pictures inside along with a picture of the artist and some background information. The quality of the book is fantastic. The dust cover is of good quality card in a matte, slightly hammered look. The main book cover is made from really thick card in a plain Kraft paper brown colour. The pages are a pale cream and on very nice paper, around the same thickness as the Johanna Basford books. The pictures are single sided with a border so no trying to colour right up to the spine. Some pages feature 4 smaller pictures but the majority are single pictures with varying degrees of detail. Almost all of the pictures include a background and some feature wolves, skulls, cats etc. On the opposite page there is a description of the original picture, explaining the name, the date it was painted, size etc. For me this feature is very helpful as it means I can look up the picture online and see what colours Jasmine used and try to replicate them. You can of course just colour the pictures any way you wish.My media of choice is pencil but I have seen videos where others have used marker pen, watercolour and acrylic. I would recommend that, whatever media you decide to use, that you slide another piece of paper under the picture your colour to protect the next page, just in case, especially when using marker pen or paint. I highly recommend this book as well as Jasmines A Fantasy Art Adventure.

High quality, beautiful illustrations.
I brought this book at full price for my personal collection. I colour purely as a hobby, one that I put an incredible amount of time and effort in to.This is Jasmine Becket-Griffith's second colouring book and follows the same format as the previous one. It's approximately 21.5cm x 27.5cm, so a tiny bit smaller then a standard sheet of paper. The paper inside is of very good quality, slightly off white and non perforated. Each illustration is one sided and the accompanying page contains details of the original painting, including what it was painted on, the size of the painting and the date. Underneath that she gives a little background information on each image ranging from her inspiration when she painted it, why she chose certain colours in the original painting and sometimes a little history on the origin of her painting! There are 43 full page illustrations and 3 pages made up of 4 smaller images each, totaling 55 illustrations. Each of these is surrounded by a border so there's no colouring next to the spine issues! You will need to place paper in between the illustrations if using alcohol markers as they do bleed through. I had no issues with gel pens or water based markers. I used mainly Polychromos and Marco Raffine's and was able to get multiple layers with no blending issues. The illustrations are really beautiful, most have a gothic Halloween vibe but there is a few cuter ones also! Each illustration is based on one of her paintings, so if you're stuck for a colour scheme for any of her work a quick google of the name of the illustration will bring up her original painting in all its beautiful colours!

Fantastic book from a fantastic artist, buy it!!
Stunning artwork from JBG. These books are amazing. This is actually my second copy because I love it so much. There's not a single picture I wouldn't colour in here. The paper is a medium thickness, off white type. I've heard people say they find it hard to blend in her books, I haven't had that problem. You need to find the right pencils for this book and I've found the polychromos work well on it, especially if you put a base of marker or watercolour down first. Watercolour goes on great and the pages are single sided so you don't need to worry about ruining the pic on the other side. Great artwork and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book. Just test some of your pencils on the back of the book first just to see which ones you think will work best.

High Quality Colouring!
I was sold on Jasmines artwork when I bought Strangelings as inspiration for my own colouring, and knew I had to buy this. I am certainly not disappointed, it is a truly lovely, high quality book. The pictures are beautifully drawn and delightfully quirky! The paper is very good quality and it is single sided. I have about twenty colouring books and this is definitely one of the nicest, I would recommend this to anyone who likes to colour, or who just wants to zone out and relax as it is therapeutic and really does help with stress and anxiety .It would also make a charming gift as it is prettily presented with a dust cover and a very attractive image on the front. Can't wait to get started!

Stunning quality and amazing artistry! Highly recommended.
Stunning illustrations...great quality materials used for this book.I have been colouring adult colouring books for a good while now but was getting bored with the usual mandala/pattern books. My adult daughter purchases this style book and suggested I give them a go. I thought initially that these style (fantasy/character) books would be more for children but, apart from the price being what I would consider not within the price range for children, once I seen the over all quality and started using various style mediums, I must say I am really starting to enjoy these books! I have the Halloween book too now. I have been using water colour pencils, gel pens and paint pens, all of which are great on this quality paper. The price I believe reflects the quality of the material and the artistry is amazing...far outways the usual adult colouring books regards quality materials etc. Would certainly recommend.
