I recently picked up the LEGO Speed Champions 2023 McLaren, and it’s quickly become one of my favourite builds in the series. The level of detail is truly impressive , from the sleek aerodynamic curves down to the distinctive McLaren colour scheme, this model captures the essence of the real car beautifully. The build itself was very enjoyable: not overly complex, but still satisfying enough to keep you engaged. It strikes a great balance, making it accessible for younger builders yet rewarding for adult collectors as well. The finished car feels sturdy, rolls smoothly, and looks fantastic displayed alongside other Speed Champions models. One highlight for me is the inclusion of authentic design elements that mirror the 2023 McLaren’s unique styling; it feels true to life without losing the fun of being LEGO. The included minifigure in the McLaren racing suit is a nice touch, and it adds extra play value for kids.

My 9-year-old absolutely loves it. The build was challenging enough to be engaging but not frustrating, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The finished model looks fantastic – it's a really accurate representation of the real McLaren F1 car, with some great details. It's sturdy enough for play, too, which is important. He's spent hours racing it around and displaying it proudly. This LEGO set is a great combination of fun building and a cool final product, perfect for any young racing fan. Highly recommended!

Arrived really quickly and best price anywhere. Bought the full series. Great to put together. Each car is different in some way to the others. So you aren’t simply building the same car over and over with different colours and decals. Bike quality with Lego is always spot on.

The build itself was good but requires concentration. There are many little fiddly bits but nothing that a little bit of patience won't solve. As for the final product it looks great but does have 3 small issues. Firstly, where the halo is meant to meet the strut it comes up short as you can see in the second photo. No biggy, just a little annoying. The other two issues make me feel this is more designed as a model than a toy for kids which is fine. The front nose is not sturdy. The way it connects to the chassis is by looping onto the front axle which means it feels loose and rattles around a bit. I feel it could easily break off. The third issue is the rear axle which like the nose feels loose and rattles around. I feel with a little more thought things could have been made a little stronger. So if you're buying this for a young fan just keep that in mind. However, most of you, like me, are probably buying for display so the latter two issues won't really matter. Lastly, just to mention, there are a lot of stickers and not many printed blocks but I guess that's what we have to deal with in all the Speed Champions sets now. Overall, it's for sure worth the buy if you're considering it. You probably won't notice the small issues when it's sat on your shelf/desk. Just don't shake it.

Arrived super fast and packaged well. Bought for my nephew, birthday gift. There are quite a few of these F1 cars so you could start collecting and display. The reviews were good and the outer description/photo on the box make it look good. I couldn't open it as it's a gift. Pleased I found this.
