Schwalbe Fat Franks are better than I could have imagined. They are well worth the cost.First off, they make any bike look better. See the photo of them on my Marin mountain bike, which my daughter has stolen from me to take to college. :)Believe it or not, they are an engineered performance tire, and make life easier for the rider.Fat Franks inflate up hard (up to 70 psi on some), which is a very good thing, since they can roll over the road without resistance. These tires absolutely glide! The tread is laid out so that they roll smoothly and quietly, not like your typical cruiser bike tires that can sound like a lawn mower when they roll. Keep in mind that noise consumes energy, and the rider must provide more energy to make that noise.Due to their extreme width, Fat Franks cover/absorb road/sidewalk/trail defects better than any other tire.If you have caliper brakes, make sure the fatties will clear! You might have to install with the wheel with the tire deflated to get the tire to clear the caliper pads.I used heavy duty tubes, green slimed them, and lined the new tubes with the old tubes. One year later and a year of college campus riding, the tubes and tires retain their initial inflation. If you have presta valves, and there is a video on Youtube that shows a trick on how to slime them. Installed them because it was the only thing that worked on my unusual configuration of mag wheels on a beach cruiser (the bearings are higher quality). These are like riding on a cloud, perfect for the application. Would recommend putting exact width tubes, not the one size fits all.

Replacement for a Fat Frank that wore out after a few years on a Townie Ebike. Good quality. Same as original other than the reflective stripe that is not that large. Very easy to get on the rim but you have to put a little air in the tire and align the tire on the rim so it sits on the rim evenly. The stripe helps getting the alignment right.

When we received our Fat Frank tire, the sidewall of the tire had been damaged. I contacted Schwalbe to let them know about the defect. I I talked with a very nice person —Jacob. He told me that they would replace the tire which would be covered under their warranty. We received a replacement in less than a week. I was very impressed with how quickly they got everything done. Wish more companies were like them! I will definitely order more bike items from them in the future!

They just barely fit in my frame so I let some air out to install them. Measure your fork inside distance for front and rear. These wider tires have a much nicer and softer ride compared to the 26x1.95 tires they replaced. I like the bright reflective stripes on the sides. I run about 38lbs pressure which for me is a good balance. I do recommend them for the street and mild off road riding.

Very nice riding tire. Excellent grip in the corners I realy like to lean into them with no fear of losing traction. I keep them inflated to about 45 psi in the front and around 35 in the rear. Running them on a 56 schwinn tiger two speed yellow band kickback laced to a set of vintage Mavic mountain bike hoops. Just noticed today after a year and a half of very occasional riding that the sidewall is separating where the reflective strip is. Noticed a bulge in the sidewall on the front tire so I deflated tire and noticed two cracks either side of the reflective strip and can see threads when I flex the sidewall open. I hope this is a warranty issue that can be resolved because I really like this tire and they are basically like new.

We have used these tires for five years on a Pedego tandem e-bike. The tires have over 1000 miles on them consistently carrying over 400 Lbs of people and cargo and we have never had any problems with them. We have also happily used them on Pedego and Townie single-person e-bikes during the same period. We have more trouble with inner-tube valve-stem separations over time than with the tires themselves but the tires are surprisingly easy to remove from the rim when deflated which makes inner-tube replacement a breeze.

Nachdem die Vorgänger nach vielen Jahren guter Dienste nun doch mal abgefahren waren, hab ich die gleichen wieder montiert . Perfekt zum Stadtfahren, mit gutem Griff, leicht laufend, und auch mit wenig Luftdruck super gut und lange zu Fahren ! Klasse Reifen !

Pannensicher und niedriger Rollwiderstand. Geeignet für die Straße, bei dem flachen Profil natürlich nicht fürs Gelände.
