Probably better called a wireless sensor for a thermometer rather than outdoor
It does what it's for; the temperature. So it good! However, the outdoor unit is only weather resistant not waterproof. It must be protected.

No clock, but otherwise as good as the LaCrosse
When my LaCrosse outdoor unit died, I got this. Works great. Open up hpuse in AM, PM to cool down for free when it is hot weather, open in mid-day when weather is cool. Lowers bills, indoor pollution buildup, bzust you need the numbers to do it right.

JUNK
Tried to like this - needed to replace a wired (external probe) Indoor / outdoor thermometer. Did not transmit signal from remote, replaced all batteries with new ones - worked up to about 6 ft - wildly inaccurate temps. Then stopped working when batteries got cold -- useless!Manufacturer requires post paid return PLUS $5 shipping fee EVEN FOR DEFECTIVE UNITS!STAY AWAY!

Good for the Price
Very simple and basic. Just what I wanted, didn't need the bells and whistles that some thermometers give you, I honestly don't care about the extras, just want the indoor and outdoor temperature.

Don't waste your money.
I am using it in my camper refrigerator so I can monitor the temp inside without having to open. I have the monitor placed about 6' away and around a corner and it picks up signal just fine.Edited: 7/1/2012 - This thermometer quit working after only using it for less than 3 months. Don't spend your money on this one.

Not for cold weather
I bought this thermometer, which is not the cheapest, to make sure I had the temperature outside. I live in Montreal (Canada). When indoor, the remote sensor works just fine. But put outside, if the temperature drops below - 10 C, which is very frequent in Canada, it stops transmitting. I read that you had to use lithium batteries for cold weather, which I did (2 AAA batteries for 11 $!). It stopped working below - 10 C again. Draw your own conclusions. I am returning it today.

Battery Eater
Purchased one of these in September of 2020 and it is still working well on the original batteries. I purchased a second one in November of 2020 but it goes through batteries like crazy. I started putting ultimate lithium batteries in the thermometer unit itself, but since January, it has depleted 2 sets of those as well. I contacted Amazon today on February 20th 2021 to arrange for a replacement. Other reviewers have identified the same battery consumption issue on thermometers they have received. All I can do is hope that I get a good one like the first I received. It is a good unit when it works.

One of them is not accurate
Not sure why, but one of these isn’t accurate. I put batteries in the outdoor thermometer (the one with no screen) and even though it is right beside the indoor one, they are reading two different temps..

Easy to set up and use, only wish it had illuminated numbers.
Overall I am pleased with this weather station. It was inexpensive, it is accurate, it was easy to set up and the range is good from the greenhouse to the house. My only issue is it does not have illuminated numbers. My husband bought it to replace our last one and didn't realize this was important. We will keep it and I will need to find a way to see it when it isn't light enough to read. Normally this wouldn't be a bother for people, but I check the greenhouse temperature multiple times a day. It is nice to be able to give a cursory glance and know nothing needs my attention.

Works great, but needs very good batteries
I've been using for 6 months and these use batteries up alkaline quickly (every 2 months on receiver and 3 months on sender (and not freezing outside yet)). I've switched to disposable Lithium batteries and expect them to last much longer. Other than that, it works perfectly.
