One of the best, most accessible spiritual books I've enjoyed in a while
So insightful and practical! Some of the best spiritual books require a great deal of concentration and discipline to understand, but I would say this book is for the average, busy, layman. It's an easy and compelling read, and you immediately understand and are moved by the words on the page. This book delves into the simple, yet profound, reality that we will become more docile to the Holy Spirit and more "perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect" by imitating Jesus, who perfectly lived out the Beatitudes. Like many, I suspect, I begin to zone out half way through a reading of the Beatitudes because I've heard them so many times before. Because I had not spent enough time trying to understand the particularities of each Beatitude, I had not realized what a handbook for living a good, Christian life they are! I am so grateful for the clarity with which Fr. Jacques unveils the Sermon on the Mount as Jesus revealing the heart of The Father and taking the mystery out of how to love God and neighbors more perfectly. I recommend this book to everyone regardless of whether you think you are doing well or poorly on your spiritual journey because it is concise, easy to digest and begin applying, and extremely impactful. You will be changed by the knowledge of how freeing and joyful it will be to apply the Beatitudes to your life more ardently.

Excellent
This is the third book written by Fr. Jacques that I've read, the others being "Searching For and Maintaining Peace" and "Time for God". He has a gift in his ability to offer different perspectives on a given subject. I have some new insights into the Beatitudes that I didn't have before! I'm really glad that I've read this.

Beautitudes as meditation and explained in simplicity and depth
Like many, I see Jesus's Sermon on the Mount and the gift of The Beatitudes as a message of hope. This roadmap to a life well lived, takes each of the beatitudes and gently dissects each in a way that is easily understood. This books has brought great comfort to me, personally.Like The Sermon on the Mount, this book is a gift to each who reads it. Perhaps a good gift to a friend or family member who is suffering from a world that is impersonal and divisive.God bless Fr. Jacques Philippe for sharing this work with us.

Beautiful and inspiring
I read Father Jacques Phillipe's books a little at a time because they are so full of wisdom. All of his books are great spiritual reading for all.

Good but not stellar
Certainly a worthy meditation on the Beatitudes, but it falls short of the quality we have come to expect from the author. It seems almost as if it were rushed to completion, with later chapters carrying significantly less depth.

A book for the wife.
She claims she couldn't get it anywhere else.I figure she just didn't want to spend her money.
