Excellent and thick, the backing through me off a bit, that is a PITA, but otherwise great tape

This is the real duct tape with the black butyl layer that molds around little cracks, dents or screws. It may be pricey, but I used this stuff 10 years ago and that's the only stuff that still held when I redid my ducts this year, all the other silver tape or paste was dried out, broken, cracked you name it.....it may be a bit more expensive, but it lasts, it works and you only need one strip around every seal you want to make. Easy to handle as well....so totally worth it...

Good sticky stuff! Difficult and frustrating to remove the paper backing, like all of these kinds of tapes. The rubber/foil can be molded/squeezed around a joint by hand after it has been applied for a good tight seal. I would not recommend for exhaust duct but for air it is perfect.

This product adhered to the ductwork, plenum and even over old mastic. There was a lot of duct tape that had to be removed because whoever installed our system used duct tape and that product should not be used on any HVAC system duct work or plenum supplies. Tape was easy to cut and separate to apply to the various areas. Excellent quality tape 181 label easy for inspectors to read to verify correct product was used on the ducts and plenum supply connections.

Works good

Quality of the tape made it easy to apply to my a/c ductwork. Unlike some of the other mastic tapes that I used, I didn't have any problems with this tape sticking to my ductwork.

Heavy and wide. Just what I wanted. I am using the mastic / foil tape to air seal the ducts on my furnace. Slicking it down with a plastic spreader makes a big difference in how tightly it seals.

Do not buy! I have used this tape on many jobs. The past two times I have ordered this tape, it has not been the normal NF17 (black) foil butyl tape. Instead of the black adhesive, it is grey and smells burnt. Both have been returned.
