Excellent value for money and casts really well. Both the rod and the reel are perfect for beach fishing. I could find no dislikes at all, even the graphics on the rod are eye catching. I'm not surprised as I have purchased other NGT products from this supplier and they have always been excellent and great value for money.

Ideal for beginners who don’t want a bit outlay on an expensive rod. In the old days I was always told never buy a telescopic rod, only either two or three piece rods. Things have moved on and now telescopic rods are just as good. I bought this as a compact travel rod as it folds little over 3 feet. It fits easily into the boot of a Peugeot 108. Ideal rod if you have a small car, use public transport or want to fish on holiday. The reel is a large spool capacity and seems sturdy enough. The price is excellent for both rod and reel.

Wanted to get into sea fishing for a while and saw this on Amazon. Wanted a compact telescopic rod and this is a whopper, so should be really good for casting. The reel seems very solid and smooth and I did just need to buy a few lightish weights to go with the mackrel feathers included.A few older reviews have complained about snapping at the tip, however I'm going to do some casting with a 3oz weight to break the rod in and get it used to stresses. This should avoid any sudden snaps.

Brought for my daughters 13th birthday as she wanted to learn to sea fish. Daughter loved it and it’s very sturdy, easy to store. We are very impressed.

If you want a product that falls apart after a few weeks of use this is the one to buy

It would be hard to beat this combo for the price it's a decent rod and reel I use it for fishing off the pier
