Works great!

I purchased this because we tend to have a lot of strays in our neighborhood. This scanner easily found the chips on my three personal dogs, and I like that it stores the data. I was using one that doesn't store the numbers and was constantly fumbinling with my phone to take a picture of the number. Overall this is a good value and very portable.

I really liked this scanner, I needed it to scan microchips in horses. I had to return it because it was not picking up the microchip in some of the horses. One farm had a reader so we tried their’s and it picked up the numbers, so I know the horses had one. The good thing about it was it always picked up the microchip in my dog, so maybe it’s just a small animal scanner. I wouldn’t recommend it for horses. I really liked the fact it would save the numbers though. That’s a big plus. If it was consistent with horse microchips, I’d still have it.

I microchip my pets and used this to check the chip# before and after inserting. It's a bare bones easy little reader. I've had no issues with it except it's super easy to turn on and can easily be accidently turned on when on a pocket or purse resulting in a sound and wasted battery charge. Charge is good for a while. Its very handy.
