Value
I like this edition (though old) and the price was reasonable. As for the music - wow!

Excellent edition of great pieces.
An excellent edition with good fingerings. In my view these pieces are among the finest piano works ever conceived, thanks to the genius of Chopin.

Chopin's ballades:old, but still fresh
It's difficult to know how this edition is produced at such a low price. Cheaper to buy new rather than used here. The pieces are extremely difficult (from my perspective). Currently just concentrating on the first ballade, and only small portions of it at a time! But it's good to have pieces which are challenging and worth the effort and time invested in playing them.

Mistakes
There are lots of fingering errors, and some note errors - especially in Ballade No. 4. The editor has done a very poor job.

Good quality
Arrived in pristine condition, a really good book for those interested in learning Chopin's Ballades. Decent fingering notation, clear print, and comes with a literary preface. Compared to other books, this one has the most value by far, as it is cheaper than some that only provide the first ballade. Worth the buy.

Difficult arrangements
My daughter is learning Chopin ballades for ARCt, but the teacher didn't like this book thought the arrangements was difficult to play. Have to buy another book from Amazon. : (

Ballades for the Piano (Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics Vol. 31)
My piano teacher said these ballades were something she required. They are not the easy versions. This is what you would expect if you wanted to learn these pieces.
