Does the job.
Pros - Has everything you need and good size strips. I'm able to cut the strips in halves because they are long enough for me to not need a full one. Lockable tweezers are great for threading the strips.Cons - Thread is clear, very thin and kind of hard to work with. I have perfect vision but it still had a bit of a hard time seeing it. It also doesn't seem super durable. Also, no instructions leaves a lot of room for error. Fairly common sense but would be nice to have some direction.

A nice discreet way to mind the gap
Kit comes with all the bits you need to tailor jeans or slacks in such a fashion as to allow you to come back later if you need to.This is an interior and out of sight version of the old elastic band with two clips on the ends that most folks of certain years will recall being a fashion accessory. By slitting the band of the pants or slacks, and then sewing two buttons on either side of the slit fabric, you then thread a elastic piece through, and then button (it comes with button holes on the elastic already - looks like they were punched out or perhaps a heated implement was used) on both sides. Thus the slack on the belt band is taken up on the inside, and you thus have a gap-less to gap-lesser depending on how much slack you need to take up.This will not work miracles. The elastic in my kit measures at 11" (approx) when relaxed, to 21" (approx) when fully stretched. So at most you could expect to "scrunch" (technical term, ask any tailor or seamstress) about 10" of material, and that would be with something incredibly thin. Denim or other coarser and heavier cloth will not scrunch as well as a silk chiffon would. The kit itself has 6 elastic straps, clear buttons (I counted 17, you *need* 12) a small card with monofiliment clear thread and a small gauge needle and a pair of tweezers to allow you to fish the elastic through the belt band. All in a nice zip lock pouch. For real world use by someone who has access to better tools, I would recommend using a crochet or knitting needle to fish through the belt band, but as this kit is designed for all skill levels of sewing, it will work with the included parts. Note - if you do not know how to thread a needle, or sew a button to fabric, you may want to learn *first* how to do that before attempting this kit. There were no included instructions, and poking oneself in the finger repeatedly is a rite of passage for sewing, it can be avoided with a little knowledge.Final thought - this is a DIY solution to a transformation of a garment with "darting" where portions of the fabric are removed, and new seams put in place to tailor the fabric to the contours of the owner. This allows the function of such alterations, without the improved aesthetics of smooth expanses of fabric. I feel this is a reasonable exchange, since you can reverse all of the work you did - remove buttons, fabric glue or stitch the slits on the inside of the belt band, so that you could *later* have the garment professionally adjusted.

WORKS FOR ME
I’m an advanced sewer and I’ve actually modified a pair of jeans using similar items in this kit. However, I ordered this product because I liked the convenience of having everything I needed in one little kit. I took one star off because there are no directions included. While I’m able to use these without them, I’m sure there are some buyers who may require or need some type of guidance. There are images provided on the product page that could be extremely helpful. I haven’t searched YouTube or online for helpful videos, but hopefully there are some available. This is however, a great kit. There are quite a few pieces of elastic included in which button holes are already stitched. Also super helpful is the large threading device. I’ve already had success using this on bottoms that needed their waist ties to be inserted/rethreaded. I do recommend this product but felt it worth mentioning re instructions not included.

Such a smart idea.
I have a few pairs of pants that are now a bit too big on me after dieting, and I ordered these waist tighteners to help me keep my jeans up where they belong. They work pretty doggone good, but you need to install them.

Great alternative
These button tightening pieces are nice. They come with everything you need to sew these on the back of any pants. Exactly what I needed since I lost weight and saves me money from getting my pants tailored. Easy installation and instructions were easy to follow but is really self explanatory and common sense. They do exactly as described and you can get this kit or purchase your own materials to achieve these results. You can’t tell that they bunch or scrunch at the back and is genius. I highly recommend

Works Well, Easy to Use
I ordered these Pants Waist Adjusters to help me tighten my Pants around the Waist. These Adjusters work well and pull the Material together to tighten it. The Adjusters are easy to attach to the Pants. You can use one Adjuster in the Back, which may make it look bulky in the Back. Since I don’t like the Bulky Look, I use one on each Side of my Pants to distribute the pulled Material. That Way, it doesn’t look so bulky. The Adjusters come with a Tweezer, Buttons, a Needle and Thread. Overall, this is a good Product for Anyone, who has a small Waist.

Does the job
This did the job for some oversized pants that my son has. The instillation was pretty straightforward. The only problem that I experienced was trying to sew the buttons on with the string that’s provided. The string is made from a plastic like material that is very thin and strong. It was a challenge working with it. I think the traditional thread would be better to work with and handle.Once installed, the waist tightener works as described. One order contains 6 tighteners along with enough buttons for other adjustments for additional pants.
