Estrella Cast Iron Manual Crank Corn Grain Grinder 14" Tall & 5" Hopper

I purchased this to grind clay fine for making pottery. I'm knew to the hobby and don't that much at this point but this grinder seems solid (it's made of cast iron after all!) and seems to work quite well. Shipping was faster than I expected.One small quibble is that the clamp has some ridges on the clamping surface that make securing it to a flat surface such as a table less secure. Other reviewers have noted this also. (I may just file these off).Other than that, it seems well made and it definitely grinds up the pottery to a very fine powder.

This mill works so well. Tough and grinds beautifully.It will be here for a long time.

I am happily impressed. Made in Colombia, not China. The plates align well. Large pad for clamping underneath table. Beautiful enameled finish, nicely boxed. Have not had a chance to put it through all its paces over time, but it does grind well. The hopper is only 5", but it still holds a sizeable amount, and unlike other brands, there were no dents in the hopper: smooth and professional. Someone took some time here to do a nice job on the design details. All in all, a real bargain and an aesthetic pleasure at the price.A few suggestions:Add a rubber pad under the feet for clamping. Even while tightly clamped, it tends to slide on the table top, due to the smooth enamel finish.Add a splash guard over the top of the grinding plates so material doesn't splatter out the top.

Nice product. Very heavy and needs something wood that is sturdy that does not move. Also it will damage the top of a table or anything used to attach it to.

Works pretty well. The grinding plate came warped so its not perfect. It takes many passes to get corn fine enough to be masa. All things considered it does the job, but the warp definitely adds time to the job as larger grains make it through. It has a learning curve, but is definitely usable for the price.

También lo he probado con otros granos y funciona de maravilla, incluso con café y especias.La manivela gira con suavidad y no requiere tanta fuerza como pensaba. Además, se ajusta firmemente a la mesa o al mesón, lo que hace que el proceso sea mucho más cómodo y seguro. Después de usarlo, limpiarlo es bastante sencillo: solo se enjuaga con agua y se seca bien para que se conserve impecable.Para quienes crecimos disfrutando de las comidas hechas con molino en casa, este producto es una joya que nos devuelve un pedacito de tradición. Estoy feliz con la compra, mis cachapas quedaron espectaculares y sin duda seguiré experimentando con más recetas.Recomiendo este molino al 100%. ¡Vale cada centavo y merece sus 5 estrellas!

this is ok at best had to take apart use clamps and washers to finally get the grinding wheels close to even . it will shave small pieces of metal shavings in your mill . feel after you use it less they are . could be a lot better oh hopper pulls of spilling milling all over mess to say the least but after messing with it adding washer seem to get it to work ok
