Essential summer kit – worth replacing each year
This is now an annual purchase for me, and honestly, I wouldn’t be without it. I live in a place where summer inevitably brings a wave of flies and the occasional mosquito, and this electric zapper handles them better than anything else I’ve tried — fast, clean, and effective. It’s lightweight but feels solid in the hand, and it holds a decent charge. I tend to leave it plugged in overnight every few days and haven’t had any issues with battery life through a typical summer. You’ll know when it’s fully charged because the LED light stops blinking, which is a simple but useful touch. One thing I’ve learned: even though it still “works” after a year, it’s noticeably less powerful compared to a brand-new one. The zap just isn’t as instant, and that slight delay makes a difference when you’re trying to deal with fast-moving pests. For that reason alone, I now treat it as a seasonal tool — worth refreshing each year to keep it effective. If you’ve never used one before, be warned: the zap sound is loud (oddly satisfying), and it will leave a small burn mark on the insect. Not a criticism, just something to expect. In short: if you’re fed up with chasing flies around with a tea towel, this is the upgrade you didn’t know you needed. Don’t wait until you’re already annoyed — just get one early in the season, and replace it annually.

A good product let down by poor packing.
The Zapper works great, very effective. Be prepared for the insects to loudly 'POPP!' and often with a bright flash, but you'll eventually, hopefully, get used to it.The one downside was how the item was packaged, in a shrink wrap style plastic bag, which offered no protection to the Zapper in it's thin cardboard box. This cardboard box did suffer a significant tear/puncture luckily piercing though into a void rather than hitting the Zapper. And the box was slightly crushed as well. Thanks to luck and only luck no damage was sustained. There needs better attention given to protective packaging when shipping in my opinion.

Faulty, waste of money.
Why did you choose this product over others?:Unfortunately this model has an internal battery which is re-chargeable, but if that battery fails it’s useless.Mine was faulty straight out of the box, quick way to lose a tenner!

This has to be the best £18 I have spent in a long time.
I sat at home getting increasingly frustrated with the amount of insects invading my house and having just decorated, I didn’t want to risk fly guts and moth dust (I don’t think they are made of dust but I’m sure you get the point) on the freshly painted walls.Whilst trawling Amazon to find a solution I came across this bad boy and decided to give it a go. I read the various reviews so wasn’t expecting too much and when it arrived it did look a bit cheap. I duly charged it up and waited for my first victim. It wasn’t long before a cocky bluebottle Sauntered into the living room and flew around my head. One quick swipe and I was rewarded with the crack of electricity and a flash as the offending creature made contact with the live mesh. It was caught but not dead so another burst and it fried leaving a fairly nasty smell and one very dead fly. Since then I have gone after every insect which is breve enough to enter my home. It works on flies, mosquitoes, smaller moths and last night I got a crane fly. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to take back control of their home from invaders (as long as they are insects). You still have to swat the little sods so flies can be tricky and I do find myself wildly swinging at them but I have yet to have one escape. It also does a great job of wiping out flying ants when they burst from the ground. As I said in the title, it’s the best £18 I have spent in ages!!
