Ghosts of Galveston (Haunted America)

This was a very well written and informative book. It was an absolute joy to read! I enjoyed how the historical facts were mixed in with the ghostly hauntings. Galveston is a place I'd love to visit and be able to visit the places mentioned in this book. I enjoyed this book immensely!

I learned a ton of historical facts about Galveston. The thing I enjoyed most was that the the detailed history of the "haunted locations" including their beginnings, the ownership transfers, and recent renovations etc.... I also loved the historical information concerning the island itself. This was one where I finished the book and still wanted more. It is a short read, but very well written.

Purchased before taking family to Galveston for 4 day off season trip. Read the book and was able to map out all locations that we wanted to visit with help of google maps. Much cheaper than paying for a tour and was able to bring the stories to life based on the great narratives written by the author. Worth your time and money whether visiting Galveston, having been to Galveston, or just a fan of Ghost Stories.

We love our frequent visits to Galveston. My daughter got this in the mail and straight away began reading it and tells me that we have been to many of the places listed. Well worth it, love it! Im sure she will want to try more of this series, perhaps one on the Houston area.

This book is more historical and not the least bit scary. To me it reads more like a text book. You will find that the majority of the stories are from the Civil War battle of Galveston and from the Great 1900 Hurricane. So if you like history this book is for you.

This was a really informative book that was recommended from a ghost tour we did in Galveston. I would highly recommend it as would my family.

I have been to Galveston Island twice. I never realized that it had such a rich history. I now ant to return a see it in a different light.
