Absolutely brilliant bit of kit and a very reasonable price.
Genius bit of kit. If you're into automating your home and can do a bit of wiring, then these Shelly 1 Minis are absolutely superb. I'm using Home Assistant, so these Shelly devices are fully integrated into my home. I got them up and running in no time at all. I'm a little bit sceptical of the claim that they can fit behind any switch or socket, but if you've got a reasonably deep back box, it should be ok. So far, they've been solidly reliable, with great connectivity and no drop outs. I'm just waiting for my Shelly Uni Plus to arrive now, so that I can integrate my old analogue burglar alarm into my IoT smart home.

Great, small profile, easy app setup
Worked a treat turning our outdoor Christmas decorations on and off by using Alexa. Easy to connect to home wifi network, works in low temperatures, so okay to install in outdoor electrical enclosure in range of house wifi. Only downside instructions not quite clear on wiring up the cables to the correct terminals. Had to seek further diagrams online.

Great little devices
These relays have been a great addition to our growing smart home. Initially went down a well known smart bulb route but that left us tied in to the brand (and their cost) and having to replace failed bulbs after a few years. These relays were easy enough to install for someone who is competent with basic home electrics. They mean we can continue to use our existing light fixtures and bulbs. The Shelly mini is small enough to install in the ceiling rose if the light fixture or ideally if you have a neutral at the switch, then to put behind there. Quick to set up, lots of configuration options including viewing power consumption. If you’re a home assistant user then they integrate easily there too which has enabled me to then use with Apple HomeKit.Plan to buy a lot more of these for other lights around the house!

Used to control an outdoor socket.
What a great little device.Bought one to control an outdoor socket for garden deck lights. I was originally controlling the socket via a dusk/dawn sensor but would come on at different times to the outside wall lights. Drove me mad. Used a fused terminal block to downrate the supply first. Works a treat. Now the decklights come on the same time as the outside wall lights. Might fit an outdoor switch next to the socket so I have manual control too.Bought an extra one for outside lights by the time I added the necessary terminal blocks it was a little tight fitting it all into a 25mm light switch backbox. If you're doing new first fix go for a deeper backbox or sink the backbox in more.I hope they do a small one like this that doesn't need a neutral in the future. I have some more lighting I want to do but a bigger one like the dimmer2 won't fit in the backbox.

Amazing mini magic boxes
Small, simple to wire and automates lights quite simply! As a non-electrician I found it quite simple to wire behind my outdoor lights. The instructions weren’t so great so went on the internet to find how to ho the light up when I didn’t want it to connect to a standard light switch.Once wired correctly the app quickly identifies it and can connects it. The user interface of the app is not straightforward but can be figured out.I just can’t believe something of this size does all of that wirelessly without an additional hub like Hive needs.

TINY device, works a treat so far.
I bought these to see if they would be useful for operating some trace heating circuits in our farm yard, so far Ive only wired in a small bedside light to see how well they work and im impressed! They are so small for what they do and would easily fit in behind a standard light switch or similar. The android app works well and it was easy to pair up and configure for our network.Likely to be buying more of these as I can see uses allover the yard for them. A**

Shelly relays, fantastic kit
I use a lot of Shelly relays and always have. These new Gen3 relays are fantastic bits of kit. As the world is getting smarter especially with smart home technology I have customers always asking me if there’s a way they can switch something by WiFi or a way to make Alexa turn they’re outside lights on etc. with Shelly relays the possibilities are pretty much endless for me as an electrician. Customers love them and they’re a breeze to install and setup. The WiFi connectivity works extremely well however if you’re hiding them in a backbox, junction box or in a loft etc anywhere that’s quite out the way from the customers WiFi you may need extenders / access points to ensure a good solid connection.

Great when you want energy monitoring without the risk of things losing power.
Very happy with these. I wanted energy monitoring without switching, since this sort of device can fail and, in my experience, they switch their output off when they do. I don't want critical things like the freezer or my broadband router being switched off because a smart device crashed its software or physically broke. These fit the bill perfectly. They integrate straight into Home Assistant as well as the Shelly app.
