All items are machined as expected. Able to secure all of the needles included without them slipping out of the awl even when piercing through 100 sheets of paper, leather ranging from 1/8" to 1/4" (3.175mm to 6.35mm) and so on. They're going in like a hot knife through butter and coming out the same. Finish on the awl itself is just rough enough to prevent slipping if your hands get sweaty, and at the same time is still good to look at. Works great for products utilizing thread and smaller cordage. Only other thing coming to mind is that the bolt thread (screw/bolt) holding the awl together is very easy to tighten and loosen.Actually, prefer the shape and size of this awl over my current ones. It's very easy to grip properly.

Nice flexible needle and handle set. The collets capture the needles tightly and provide lots of leverage to push them into dense materials such as leather, nylon, vinyl and neoprene. The tips are nice and sharp making penetrations effortless. This kit is mainly made for thread type sewing and not leather cord since the eyes in the needles are smallish. But overall nice set with lots of flexibility for crafts and repairs. Very sturdy and tough for tough work.
