The media could not be loaded. I'm happy with the axe. I first used it straight out of the packaging. The axe wasn't super sharp, but not dull either. It took off small branches from the central Texas Cedars and peeled the bark well as shown in the video.I like the handle. The wood is very solid, and the bend or notch in the middle of the handle is great for gripping halfway up and controlling the tool. That mid-grip makes it very easy to use. It's sharpening up well using the block provided.All in all, it's a good tool and value for the price.

The hatchet itself is great. It's heavy enough to do some real damage and will take a good edge. It has an aggressive look to it that I like. Includes a sharpening stone and a belt loop as well as a sheath. It has a good handle with at least a couple of good grip points.I was disappointed though, that the button to secure the sheath was broken. One side had pulled through the leather. Not a deal breaker for me, just a hassle to deal with.

This is a quality and a value. It HOLDS an edge and, is Very Comfortable to use. Very low vibration when striking, My wrist doesn't wither in minutes. It's balanced and, has enough weight to make a clean cut, without killing my arm. I Like This Hatchet!

Purchased this to use around outside. Seems sturdy, the handle is stout and is made to where it is comfortable to use. The button on the cover for the blade was broken when it arrived (the snap had pulled through the leather), if I were taking it camping, that would be an issue. But the cover and belt holder is thick heavy leather which is nice, it should last a long time. I’m probably going to order the shorter version as well. And maybe give one as a gift. Overall a great purchase.

Head flew off the handle within the first couple uses. It was fixable.

It's ok,it's cast and not forged as stated so take care if striking metal on metal but still a ok tool.

I bought this ax at a slightly reduced price as it was returned by the 1st buyer.The ax had a check mark on the box and said, "Inspected by Amazon". All well and good to this point.But I wondered why it was returned. --and I soon found out why. When I dinged the ax head with my finger, it sounded flat --it did not ring -- as the ax head was loose. I pounded in one of the enclosed wedges which did tighten the head to handle fit; but part of the main wedge split off. The wood is very dry and brittle, I oiled and stained the handle, filled in the crack and it now the fit and look are satisfactory. The price should have been reduced further. I am not satisfied with this "used" Amazon purchase. I have yet to determine how this will affect future purchases from Amazon. Thank you.
