In my humble opinion, it is the perfect size for an “all occasions” Bible. I cut my teeth over 20 yrs ago on the NKJV and the last five years on the ESV thinline. I absolutely loved the thinline bible from Crossway in ESV so I searched for it in the NKJV and lo and behold Thomas Nelson was all over it a few years ago. Now I have my favorite version combined with my favorite size bible, perfection. Thomas Nelson has a great font and size in this bible and it’s a joy to read and hold. Thank you Thomas Nelson.

Great for travel and home use. Lightweight. Keep in mind, this is not a study Bible. It does have a few notes at the bottom of most pages. Page print and paper quality are just fine for me. I chose the pretty pink cover which is embossed with flowers and ferns. The back pages include 30 Days with Jesus, One Year Reading Plan, and eight maps. I would buy this item for daily reading. Nice gift Bible.

Love my Bible use it all the time will buy again

I am loving this Bible.I have an older NIV that I have studied with for quite a while, but I don't carry it with me since it's a bit bulky for travel. I use the Kindle app for books, but don't really like it for studying the Bible, although I am glad to have it when I don't actually have a Bible with me.I recently returned from a work trip and felt my morning studies were lacking, since I didn't have a Bible or notepad (I sort of journal when I study). Also, I recently realized I was really missing out by not being involved in an in-person community of other believed in Christ and began attending a church. These two factors prompted me to purchase a more portable Bible.Although it's smaller than my other version, this could easily serve as an only Bible, as long as you don't require extra large print. The pages seem a little thicker than my other Bible, and the font was well chosen--I find it pretty easy to read and my eyes aren't always the best. I can't comment on whether this works for highlighting; I often get something different out of subsequent readings, and find the highlighting distracting so I jot down my takeaways in a notebook.I appreciate that the cover is soft and flexible, so it opens fairly easily and does not flip up when you're trying to read. The pages seem firmly attached, which is important because I want it to last a long time, and this gives me hope that it will.The Amazon description mentioned a thumb index, which really appealed to me. Since the pictures didn't show this, I wondered if the description was accurate. Happily, it is. There is not a separate indentation for each book-- the thumb index for Matthew, for example, also is used for the books of Mark, Luke, and John, and the book names are abbreviated. It will take a little getting used to, but I think it will ultimately work more efficiently than a separate tab for each book. And it has a ribbon placeholder, which is helpful.The NKJV, so far, doesn't seem to read much differently than my old NIV, but I am sure there will be passages that differ.Overall this is a 5-star purchase for me, and I highly recommend it just the way it is.I would also really like to see a version with a simple fold-out magnetic flap, something that doesn't add any bulk at all, but simply folds up to cover the edges along the sides and protect the pages when taking it with me in a backpack or carrying it on a windy day. For now, I am looking for a sleek book cover or binder or portfolio that will hold the Bible, plus a junior legal pad and pen for notes, as I'm not a fan of those fabric lunchbox-style Bible covers on the market.
